As we all know, many Ferrari racing cars were rebodied, including examples of the TdF, SWB, GTO, LM and Sports Prototype cars. From what I have read, in the early '80s 2735GT underwent an exacting rebody to its original 1961 specification by the top people in the UK with Grand Prix Metalcraft and Kevin O'Rourke carrying out the work which was overseen by David Cottingham of DK Engineering. Grand Prix Metalcraft also rebodied the ex Jo Schlesser SWB, s/n 2209GT. In 2009 a comprehensive body off restoration was completed by Ferrari Classiche at Maranello and some aspects of the chassis and bodywork were corrected. The car now matches the build sheets exactly and it is how it left the Ferrari factory in June 1961. See Keith Bluemel article here: http://www.finecars.cc/en/editorial/article/news/sir-stirling-moss-reunited-with-ferrari/index.html
Correct. Driving 2735GT in 1961, Moss won the Goodwood RAC TT (and the previous year in SWB s/n 2119GT) as well as races at Silverstone, Brands Hatch and a 2 heat race at Nassau. See here: http://www.britishpathe.com/video/accent-on-sport/query/mike+parkes Stirling's Ferrari race history: http://www.stirlingmoss.com/node/703 The car was also raced by 1962 and 1968 F1 World Champion Graham Hill with Stirling as Co Driver at Le Mans 1961 where they were leading the GT Class until they retired due to a mechanical problem and later by Innes Ireland.
It clear it isn't Sebring, but the racing no's at Thompson and Beverley, though also "53", showed different. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Don't know about that but they are two local tracks and were the most likely venues. I'll see what more I can learn tomorrow.

isn't this something else? i know the car was crashed, but i don't know if it was ever rebuilt? is this what happened to chassis #2053? caption: Nürburgring 1000 km 1963: Eldé and Dernier finished 5th in Ecurie Francorchamps' 250GT SWB Drogo s/n 2053GT Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think the remains may have ended up at Garage Francorchamps, but not rebuilt? Marc Sonnery, Nembo1777 on here will know for sure.
