Thanks and no I do not care to comment as the subject is for the P&R section. I will check it out though.
No actually it is not but I will say this to appease. I have stood guard at a county polling location and as long as there is no "Breach of the Peace" or any agenda being illegally enforced or enfluenced in any form or fashion everyone is welcome. That may answer alot for you and others yet I still stand neutral, I am sworn to uphold not impose.
FINALLY it is election day and I should know this evening after the polls close or first thing tomorrow morning if I will be rejoining my past dept. Wish me luck.
The count is in and my guy lost by 14 votes but can call for a recount. It is funny that I came across slanderous websites created by those who were once in power (the sheriff is their TOKEN) regarding the runner-up. While I know certain details about the winner that could lets just say enlighten people I was sworn to secrecy. I just knew in the back of my mind this county would re-elect him and continue to wallow in the sad state of affairs it put itself into. I think just for the fun of it I will re-apply with him just for oldtimes sake! I mean hell he only has two deputy's left out of a dept that should have atleast 15.
FINALLY the new year is here and the new sheriffs have taken office so wish me luck regarding the applications I have out. Basically at this point I will take a jailors position as I will still be commisioned, I have come too far to give up easily (it is not in my nature anyway).
I FINALLY recieved a 'call back' from a dept I submitted an application to in 06/2012. Thankfully I kept a copy of my 'paper' application as the new guard cannot locate my paper application due to a 'change of shift' and now must submit online. Great news!!!
NEED COMPUTER ASSISTANCE ASAP regarding my 'online' application. I was told to resubmit online ASAP yet cannot..............HELP!!!!!! Thanks in advance, Gregg
Update: Admin asked if I could scan and then send the attachment and I have done this without success. I have a fairly new printer and the pictures were saved in PDF form and I have successfully transfered them to my computer and into my pictures/images file aswell but I cannot rename the file nor can I find the file name when I try to attach!?!? My OS is Windows 7 and instead of the hassle of remailing (because of the changes within the dept they cannot locate my original paper application) and time being of the essence I was hoping I could get some phone assistance??? PM me ASAP if you can coach me, ok? Thanks in advance, Gregg
Nevermind as I recieved the OK to just mail in another copy. The dept is only 40 miles away so it will be on the admins desk first thing Monday morning, thanks anyway.
download adobe pdf reader here http://get.adobe.com/reader/ (you may not have the latest version) Do you have a scanner? If so you can scan them back into your computer, using the print / scan utility in windows. Another route is once you get the .pdfs printed you could use an iphone app to actually take pictures of the documents and then it will help you convert them to documents you could scan in. Then of course if you have a local kinkos or copy shop they should be able to assist. hoep that helps.
I appreciate your help, thank you, but I just mailed it in and had some good laughs with the lady who assisted me at the post office. I will get my pdf issue figured out eventually. Thanks, Gregg
I am sure that others here who are in law enforcement know how difficult and time consuming this career is regarding employment. The past year has been very disheartening but I knew with persistance aswell as honesty I would get another chance. I just recieved a call from a S/O that my application has met their criteria for employment so I will be interviewing with them on the 29th. I have no expectations of employment as I am just happy I have been considered as a potential employee. I hope that all who follow this thread will wish me luck. Regards, Gregg
Hey Jack... Now you're cooking with peanut oil... Happy, happy, happy! Best wishes, Steve PS I'd refrain from any 2.5 references during the interview if I was you.
I'll wish you luck, despite your rudeness 2 days ago, and take this most relevant opportunity to say it again - especially when discussing employment as a peace officer, when you are pursuing a suspect, when you are in pursuit of a suspect, etc - it's "pUrsue", not "pErsue" as you've repeatedly spelled it here for years. If I'm deciding on hiring a peace officer, the ability to spell a critical word correctly so as to avoid embarrassing the department when arrest reports etc come up in court would be an important factor in my hiring decision.
I understand what you are saying and thank you for your support . I should use 'spell/punctuation check' ALOT more than I do as it will help me correct my numerous spelling and punctuation errors on FChat, I just cannot seem to find a decent free download for one, maybe you can help? Most depts have a spell checker on their software when writing reports as I have witnessed after ride alongs and after my first arrest. Regardless I thank you for pointing out these small but very important errors. Regards, Gregg
I notice Firefox has a spell check in the browser..works in Fchat posts. Google Chrome does also. Best of luck man!
I just spoke with my buddy who has that ranch I have often spoken of and he has an apartment in Bellville (where the S/O is located I am interviewing with). He mentioned that he and his family now spend 99% of their time at their ranch so IF I am offered a position I could most likely takeover his lease, I have a very good feeling about this job opportunity and lord knows I need something positive, wish me luck ok?
It will happen, if not this one, then maybe the next. It's the effort you are putting into it that will pay off real soon Gregg. Good luck man! KevFla
