Thats the Jarama Bob car that I believe was restored under Del Hopkins supervision and documented in Supercar Classics magazine.
correct... you can read more from my website : http://www.jaramaregistry.com/10350.html since that article, it didn't appear too much in Public these years and it is a privilege to have been able to make a test & reportage about it ...
really exclusive would be pictures of the jarama as projected by gandini before stanzani softened the project... rolando
that drawing would be interesting, can you share it ? but even more fantastic a pic of the small "modello"at 1/5 scale... I saw it once, don't remember where, may be in my Automobilia collection !
I finally got around to scanning some of my old pics. Here are pre and post restoration pics of the Bob Wallace Jarama. Although the original documentation stated that the car was orange the car was red when imported from the middle east. That's Del Hopkins in the second pic. Thanks for these pics. But, if you have read the Supercar Classic magazines articles about the restoration, it is true outside was red and inside door orange.. The orange color pigment changed with heat & sun... as related in the article. In Rob de la Rive Box records, I have written note under the B&W pic of #10350 stating "Arancio". But also JF Marchet confirmed me it was Arancio when he saw it at factory back in 1972
I have no doubt that the car was originally orange (as per original documentation) but personally I have difficulty with the idea that the sun was responsible for the metamorphosis! Here is another pic taken just after arrival Image Unavailable, Please Login
Have a 71 Jarama, and the headlite door motor is DEAD. Anyone know where I can get one or know of a replacement. Thanks Chadbourn Bolles 803 532 6257 803 798 3044 cell EMAIL Lamborghinionly that is my address at Yahoo.com
You are right, it was not the sun. The car was painted red when it arrived back from the Middle East, this is well-known by people who were at Portman Lamborghini at the time. Del Hopkins, Peter Martin & Mike Perry can confirm this. Furthermore, your pic proves it. Thanks for sharing!
Well, I never had to face that particular problem. My suggestion would be to look at Alfa Montreal rotor engine for the headlight cover... or at the Iso Lele Regards
Chad, Peter, Here is... Motorino alzapalbere ref #6107998 it is on page Tavola 40/10200 Gruppo B44 of the Catalogo pezzi di ricambio Jarama my scanner is out of office for repair so I cant forward it to you. I wish I had my car so I can contribute to this thread a lot more. Here is my first youtube clip I did yesterday. It is a phone video I did in 2010 when I first bought my Jarama. It shows how much of an ass ****-ing I got. Remember, YOU MUST HAVE A PPI DONE. I didn't because I did not care about anything other than getting the car in my possesion.
