Fantastic footage Steve! Thank you. Is the exhaust system on the TDF original? I don't think so. They look more like 275 exhaust than the smaller thin ones normally seen on a TDF.

0763GT no doubt will have had a number of different exhaust systems in its 55 years. Here it is pictured with the big pipes and standard TdF size as well as the correct pipes I'm sure it now sings through after DK Engineering's recent mechanical restoration.

Also here is a link to a web site which goes through the different series of 250 GT LWB TdF and Interim cars. http://14louvres.free.fr/250_TDF/Ferrari_250_Tour_de_France.html

Ok this a 300SL but we could be easily talking the same of a TDF or a SWB. All were made around the same years (SWB somewhat later) but all there are gorgeous, have sensual lines and just make you dream of having one someday. This is one of the best video's I have seen and really captures ownership of a classic car. Enjoy!

The Gullwing is just amazing. Sounds fabulous too. I would love to clean that car as well and feel its beautiful, voluptuous curves. Thanks for posting the video, Edmond. I wish Mercedes had put this Gullwing, the C111, into production with a petrol 4 stroke engine. I've always loved the shape and had a Corgi model of it when I was very young.

The original exhaust on my TdF was an "Abarth doppie, Prolunghe diametro 36 mm"

    Love the used interior!!
A brand new interior shouldn't be in a car from the 50's
Patina shows character and loads of fun over the years.

You don't see that many headrests in sports cars from that period. Still would prefer those patina seats over the ultra modern Recaros in the DB4 Zagato (but with modern seatbelts of course).

Disagree, how long do you leave an interior like that before you do something about it. If the car is to be used its certainly not going to last another 50 years. Unless you decide to preserve that interior in a vacuum chamber then it will have to be changed at some point

A car is only original once. Once that's gone no amount of money or talent can replace it.

The car in question isn't there yet.
Better to wait than to sacrifice originality.

Used to have a friend who taught zoology at Harvard. Called his girlfriend "Magpie" because of her love of shiny objects.

Man, I don't know. That interior looks pretty ratty. With a race car, originality should rein supreme but I think the road cars get a little more lee way. I love patina but I think that interior is past the patina stage.

But hey, different strokes for different folks. I do like seeing the original cars too, so I guess I'm conflicted. :)
