Bernie can fix it to keep the championship going to the wire....
With the fastest car and team orders. Plenty of incompetent, irresponsible and lazy Germans. Guess you'd have to appreciate the Merkel type of creativity and Trabant sex appeal but overall Das ist streng verboten is a popular tune.
Yes all you SF fans do is hop on your winning drivers bandwagon. Everyone else just sucks, until you get them that is...................................................................................................................... forgot a couple more of these................. Give Massa the RB Seb is in he still wouldnt(couldnt) win the WDC. If both drivers died in a wreck tomorrow one would go in the record books as one of the greatest ever and what IF (like senna) and one would fade into oblivion. I personally follow drivers, I do not care as much about teams for F1. Once and if Vettle joins SF his praises and history will be sung on here like they invented it. Im just glad I jumped on his bandwagon in 2008. a couple more................
Development pace? Ferrari- went 6-7 races without any and a constantly improving Red Bull. With some luck Ferrari are where they are with FA. Not much has helped the car until now. The Red Bull is in another world even now. Vettel was NEVER under threat again. Webber had a KERS fail. Where was the development? FA passed him only because of that failure it would appear.
So you invented it.....OK. Ahem. I like to watch the racing. When F1 was boring, I didn't watch it, but I took it back up semi-religiously the last 2 years. I would love to see Alonso and Ferrari win. Really enjoyed watching KK's Japanese race. Not a fan at all of Hamilton but like Button and Mac....this based on my judgemental side of drivers and NOT based on skills.....it makes a difference in who I want to align my hopes for. 2 years ago, it was Vettel because he was coming of age. Now I want to see Alonso beat him heads up....if he can. For MS return, all I hoped for was 1 victory...especially at Monaco. Sad it never came to be, as is a WDC for Massa. My heart and my head often have disparate POV's. I've only had a few truly obsessive favorites that caused me to overlook their more serious flaws.
Congrats to Vettel. In the Redbull, he is going to be unbeatable this season I'm afraid. No one can deny his speed and talent. The kid is in a different league. Mark
Gotta take you off "ignore" I guess. Sorry, I scrolled through the entire thread and missed your comment. Even if you love DRS I think you have to admit it played a huge role today.
Not that I doubt the fuel savings story, but why was he in that situation? Ferrari has to know he's going to be in a position to where he has to fight for position and burn excess fuel at some point in the race. Mark
If I'm not mistaken, they said on TV today that both Ferraris had a very light fuel load. It's worrisome that they need to cut the fuel safety margin to find speed...
Yes any step forward must be re-considered given this tactic. Without KERS fail with Webber its a 1-2 for the Red Bulls. Its hard to take Ferrari seriously in the 'development' race given the lack of developments and today's race. If this fuel story is true. Ferrari did deny FA had the same problem. Given they drive the same car it doesnt add up at all.
could this be because Kimi was hounding Massa the whole race? I think the biggest gap between the two (excluding pit stop, of course) was 1.2 seconds, and that was because of the DRS being disabled for a few laps. Massa had to defend the whole race.
A little insulting, but I think you also mischaracterize the people in this section. I think the vast majority are fans of F1, but (obviously) Ferrari is the chosen team. I think many drivers are supported by different fans on this site; guys like Vettel, Webber, Hamilton, Button, Hulkenberg, Perez, Kobayashi, Kimi, Schu, etc get lots of love from different posters. I agree that Seb is one of the best drivers on the grid, and not simply because he's in the best car. I think he has that extra "thing" that separates WDC's from guys like Webber or Massa. In equal cars, I think he, Alonso and Hamilton are the class of the field (my opinion, not looking for arguments). I think the "negative" vibe you're feeling is based more around what Newey has done for RBR than doubt about Vettel's skills. It's the classic case of the 'new guy who hasn't paid his dues (Red Bull Racing)' dominating the guy that's 'been there from the beginning'. It's "new money" vs "old money". Is it jealousy? Of course it is...they're about to win a third straight WDC despite only existing for, what, 7 or 8 years? (I don't want to hear about their Jaguar roots...this is not Jaguar) At the end of the day, they did what the other F1 teams didn't do; hire Adrian Newey, who seems to be at the zenith of his career. As with most instances in life, timing is everything. Red Bull, Newey and Vettel all found each other at just the right time to rewrite F1 history. The season's not over, but RBR are firmly in 'the driver's seat'.
