Yes they did. Towards the end Alonso was told to "coast" as well. But that may have just been strategy :)

Of course, but even with it I was border line bored after the first few laps.

Not a horrendous race, but not that exciting, like I posted earlier somewhere, with Vet having Web ride shot gun it was game over.

No one - but apparently Massa would have needed more!

Same with Todt/Brawn/Schumi at Ferrari in the glory years!

Agree. Prior to that, Ferrari were riding a 25+ year streak without a WDC.

Why is it that you never hear Button complaining? Because you're not listening? ;) In THIS race, before mid-point: "Understeer, front tires are shuddering" came from Button on the radio. The BBC commentators discussed his radio transmission about his tire complaints. Button is actually pretty well known for tire complaints, about low grip or poor balance, during races.

Re Hamilton, he's out-performed Button on tire management several times this year, winning one race with 2 stops compared to Button's 3. I think Hamilton finally did fully learn how to manage the Pirelli tires for this season, and this hasn't been an issue for him at all. Sorry, I think you're not just a bit off, but wrong in this regard.

Sad indeed. But maybe after 3 dismal seasons, his rabid fans will agree it was finally time to hang the F1 gloves for good :D.

Somewhat boring race. Barring disaster, it was over by the second lap, with Seb 2 seconds ahead and Webbo shotgun. But glad Fred got the next best position. The WDC is very well in his grasp still. Ferrari is right behind the bulls now. Looking forward to Abu Dhabi; hoping for a more exciting race.

 How the F does that work? Each side has 2 paddles, top two for changing gear and bottom ones for clutch. Unless his left fingers stopped working I can't for the life of me work out how he can only downshift with his right hand???

It was a stupid fast change. awesome!

Yes it was the reason they changed the wheel, but I'm fascinated how or why he needed to change with his right hand since that just doesn't add up for me. right hand is up shift, and there are no paddles/linkages to do everything with the right hand. Unless the paddles work both ways, so to say that if he lifts the paddle up (or forward, I suppose) it downshifts, and pull does the standard upshift...(like a see-saw system)

There's got to be some sort of redundancy built in.
He certainly was able to turn up the wick once the change was made so the back up system may be more cumbersome.

Congrats to Fred. started 5th and finished 2nd. A strong second. fun watching Fred pass Webber and then hold him off.

Phil started 6th and ended 6th. Just a so-so race. Wonder why he had to watch his fuel consumption. Talk about cutting it close.

The take away from India has to be that if Seb doesn't have a mechanical failure the WDC is his.
The good news is that an RB failure is always a possibility.

Michael, do you think the guy was being tongue in cheek?

On another note, this kid Vettel is such a superb driver, and such a likeable Young Man.

The big gripe about Seb is that he hasn't faced any really adverse situations. Until then his mettle remains suspect to some.
