Agreed. Ferrari and Alonso did especially great this season but lets face it, if Vettel hadnt had the misfortunes he had earlier this season he would be leading the WDC points by a lot more.

 

I say it's time Pirelli showed their bias and a few dud tyres end up at RB to make the game exciting again

 

its already a miracle alonso and ferrari is 13 points adrift vettel and 10 ahead of mclaren so late into this championship with a donkey car

like it or not one hell of a season for ferrari and alonzo but sadly the 2 trophy is too far away with the brilliant of vettel, newey and redbull combo

Well this was a fairly unusual race, by F1 standards.

No changes to the grid or results, after the fact.
How long since we've had that happen?

 

2 DNFs , what else ?

BTW did you make it to the rally ?

 

And those were real misfortunes. Mechanical failures I don't see as misfortune. It's a mechanical sport and so the teams should bring good cars to the grid. That's part of the game.

Alonso is simply the best driver. with the best car he don´t have problems to be world champion every season. if ferrari takes Newey from RB, i am absolutly shure than next year Alonso will won the campionship. this year is almsot impossible. regards.

 

A bit boring...the fact that massa qualified near Alonso ruined his race...he must be very careful in the start and loses one of his best abilityes...to be a great starter...he had to be carefull in the first corner, if Fred wasn´t there he probably would have taken one of the Macs...but today his pace wasn´t that good, still great job holding Kimi the entire race while saving fuel.

 

While I admire Phil you're bending over backwards a little bit there.
Kimi's lack of top speed kept him behind Massa. Even DRS couldn't help.

 

True, the Renault engine did not help KIMi, in fact, he never really made a serious go at massa after the pitstop scruff, nevertheless, Phil did a god job keeping him at bay while having to conserve fuel, had he made one litle mistake and Kimi might just had a chance to overtake.....but all in all it wasn´t a briliant race from Massa, he simply was not as fast as Alonso.

 

I was just wondering whether Pat Fry is the right person for the job.

Aside: just watched Brannagh's Henry V.
Shakespeare stole a lot from the Pythons.

 

If not for the epic Grosjean crash at Spa, Alo would still be in the lead on points.

If anyone has a few minutes to kill, please look at the lap times at India or any for the last handful of races, the Ferrari's race pace is on-to-above-par with Red Bull's...even with KERS (first 20 laps of India) Alonso's and even Massa's pace were incredible compared to the bulls.

I read the stats as indicating an overwhelming weakness in qualy. I'm hoping that improves to give Alo a fighting chance.

 

With if's and buts, Ham would still be in the mix, also Button had the fastest lap in this race, so the Mc's are not exactly slow, either.

It seems a delicate balance is needed on all tyre compounds, and the Bulls have found the sweet spot, right at a crucial time like now.

Lap of the gods stuff this year I think, but my memory is not the best, he seems to have kept out of trouble, and done his best out of a bad job I think.

This assuming Vettel was really pushing. Webber maybe was. Vettel doubtful. He gets the most out of the car and FA had to drive it on the actual limit to keep pace. Thats not the sign of an improving car. Hence his tirade after qualy over Fry and his comments.

FA also had a moment towards the end and nearly lost control. Vettel never waivered. Ferrari have much more work to do to overhaul the Red Bull. Again, matching pace is not enough and never has been. Until they exceed the Bull's pace by .2 or more in lap in qualy and maintain that in the race, nothing will change. My opinion only of course.

 

Not a race with longevity given this response. I know its only year 2 but lets be realistic for the longer term. 25 Pound tickets would be a give away in Europe!
