Quattroporte Tipo 107

Yes the front seats have new leather all around except for the back of the chair. Also the inside is built up with new foam or whatever it is called.

 

This one is available in my neck of the woods (USA Maryland). The picture is 20 years old and the car is reported to be in very bad shape. Chassis number is alleged to be 107520, Anyone know anything about it?

very nice, wants $15,000. needs and needs. sounds like 20-30 thousand to put right at today's shop $$$. Would be a nice project for a capable person

 

Yesterday I was driving a wedding couple with a particualar sense for style and class!

Come on now the rest of you 107 owners, am I the only one using my car?

 

i am still waiting for a check from washington to fund my project. looks as if i just need to go head and fix the car

 

Earlier this summer I was rear ended while waiting for the lights to turn green. Some idiot was more interested in playing with his phone than watching ahead.
The car is now in the workshop to get fixed. It is a lot of work since it is hit in both ends. Standing still in a que meant that I hit the car in front of me when I was hit from behind.
The paint was in really good order and what I haven't decided yet is if I will pay to get a full re-paint.
The front and the rear will be covered by insurance but not the doors, roof and bonnet. I would be crazy if there were a difference in the color.
I will post some pictures as the work comes along.

I think that on this car you should be able to appeal the insurance decision to paint only the back and front as that is impossible to get right. Common sense would indicate this is a complete job.

I was alone in the car and the hit was at fairly low speed, thanks for asking. The only damage was to my mental health. I cannot remember the last time, if ever, I was that angry.
To get a proper paint both the front and rear window needs to be taken out. The front will be replaced since it is a bit worn. I waited 6 months for delivery of the windshield from Italy, and when it arrived it was damaged! So they had to manufacture a new one. All for the cheap amount of Euro 3600 + VAT!

 

Stopped by today to see how things are progressing. In the end it will be good, but for now it is a bit depressing in this state...

As you all probably know it is so easy when you start working on an old car that you start fixing things just because you are already halfway there.

While at the workshop for fixing the crash damage, I had planned to change the clutch plus another couple of small things. One of the things that have irritated me is that I had some oil leaking from the main bearing.
So today I have decided to pull the engine to change the main bearing.

When my engine was opened yesterday it seems like the main bearings and the rod bearings were shot. AAAhhhhh, not exactly what I expected since they were supposed to be changed 16000km ago
