Perhaps if India were a more densely populated nation they'd be able to find more fans.

I can think of some other venues where the situation is the same but where the press is less frank.

    Bernie's model is unsustainable.

I only had 1 if and it was not related to driver or car reliability / performance; hambone's situation is worse and far from comparable because of the lack of consistency & reliability be it by the car or himself, either of which are within the team's control.

The Grosjean wipeout is a standout epic failure in F1 history.

And I don't just look at fastest laps, I looked at overall race pace numbers ie the avg lap pace set by Ferrari actually beat out either RBs. The stats are all there just need to do a little math.

Maybe soon people will realize that no one wants races in these smog-filled ****holes. The fans sure don't, and the locals don't either, judging by support for the Korean, Chinese and Indian races.

The folks in government who write Bernie and the Boys those big checks want them.
    That's all that matters.

Meanwhile France doesn't have a GP. The birthplace of GP racing, does not have a GP. What a shame.

And a disgrace for a sport that trots out its "tradition" whenever it suits.

How can they have been faster on average if they came in behind in India?

Lets see those numbers for Korea and Japan. As Ive stated before matching pace doesnt add up. A few faster laps when Vettel has slowed even 2% doesnt add up. Simple fact math or not - Ferrari are slower.

Being fast when it doesn´t matter doesn´t win races.

The McLaren got the fastest lap of the race and now it´s even a bit worse than the Ferrari, not to mention the Red Bull.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/andrewbenson/2012/10/time_running_out_for_alonso_in.html

"In the race, though, Vettel was completely untouchable.

In the first 20 laps, he was not that much faster than team-mate Mark Webber in second place, and the Australian was being pretty much matched by Alonso.

But then Vettel cut loose, suddenly lapping 0.5 seconds faster than before. Team boss Christian Horner admitted that, not sure about tyre wear, Vettel had simply been measuring his pace in the opening third of the race."

Certainly as the article states, one DNF and its wide open again.

The Red Bull is clearly the class of the field, guys. That said, I predict a really good showing for McLaren in Abu Dhabi. They always go well there, and I think the circuit's smooth, flat nature plays to the perenially stiffly-sprung McLarens.

Reliability at the end of the season is always a big factor. Even without DNFing, if SV needs a new engine or tranny, the grid penalty would probably put Alonso back on top. It's THAT close folks. Abu Dhabi should favor Ferrari (and McLaren) due to their higher top end speed. Hope that's the case, because Alonso needs to finish ahead of Vettel there to switch the momentum in their favor ahead of COTA. Looks like COTA will favor the bulls due to the high-speed corners, but it's a big unknown. Brazil should benefit Ferraris more, making it a fantastic end of the season. It's so close that any DNF would be game over for either contender; I certainly hope that's not how this championship is decided.

Korea and India are also smooth and flat ;).

    Also, statistics:

2009 - vettel win, hamlton pole
2010 - Vettel pole and win
2011 - Vettel Pole, hambone win as Vettel immediately had a puncture.

I'd say 2012 will be another Vettel pole and win, save his car going wrong. Will be cool if he wins the last 3 GPs and tie with MSC for 7 consecutive wins...;)

As Crash Davis said about strikeouts. Consecutive wins are fascist. ;)

I beg to differ! As a Ferrari fan, I agree. But, as an F1 fan I have no problem with utter domination if you deserve it. Mclaren winning all but one race sucked, but you've gotta doff your cap to the achievement. Didn't bore me - Pissed me off, but that's because I bleed red.....

    Cheers,
    Ian

LOL, I don't like domination from any driver to be honest, I had my fill of it with MS to last me a lifetime.
