Well into Skyrim now and it's all the better with new evga 560 GTX graphics card. This game has near-infinite content - I can keep installed and play along on it for years to come. There's a now a new major addon available. @ $19.95, might as well buy and install.

Assassin's Creed III ordered and coming in October. I'm looking forward to playing at high graphics settings, though even at lower settings AC games are the best I've ever played on the allround visual end. Dead reliable and bug free as well.

Other good prospects out there. W/new 500GB HD, I've room for half a dozen big ones, at least.

Fallout 3 and Oblivion were buggy on my system, lot of crashes and blue screens, and I regret that because both are great games.

I was wondering how that was, I played the demo on PC, not too impressed, but it is a demo. I thought the combat was fairly hard as well.

A buddy of mine living with us is starting to get me hooked on Sid Meier's Civilization 5.

However, I'm having to resist heavily, as my PhD Candidacy qualifying exam is scheduled for Oct 19th.

    After that, Game on!

It took me a few weeks since your recommendation, but I finally just got this in yesterday from Amazon. I love it! Honestly I think I like it better than GTA4/Gay Tony... the grappling hook makes the game. Just plain fun. For me, this is exactly what I think a video game should be. Most new games are too complicated... I just want to fly around and blow stuff up for no reason. :)

Picked it up this morning, it's taking some time to figure out the gun system, kind of strange. The world looks great and so far seems to be a lot bigger.

Yeah I had issues with the guns too, esp the reloading LOL. The controls seemed to have been streamlined, you don't need to press jump all the time. They have added some nice gameplay touches

You should read the in game description of places, some of them are pretty funny :D

My order page on amazon says it will ship on 11/20. No big deal - I'm still playing Skyrim and have another couple of new and unopened games.

One thing that threw me at first was the need to target an enemy before firing, I need to spend some time messing with it to try and figure out the system since it's unlike any other shooting game. Catches you off guard when you shoot someone and can't immediately shoot another.

    PC?

Any feedback on AC3 now that some of you have played it a bit more?

Played a bit more and after my disappointment with Forza Horizon I can't tell if its just not that great of a game or if I've just lost interest in video games.

One thing I've noticed is that most of the current games are using the same engine - so things feel similar in all the games. This has definitely shortened my attention span for most games.

Get both! :D Also Halo 4! haha.

Playing a few more hours of AC3, I really like the game, it's similar to previous games up till Sequence 4 then things change... It's like they wanted to make it like Red Dead, don't want to spoil anything but you go hunt animals.... They added a lock picking mini game which is annoying as ****... and the quicktime fights with animals are tough... I don't like quicktime events...

I just don't have the urge to play that I used to have. I remember not being able to put a game down and having nothing else on my mind except the excitement of getting home and playing. Now I don't even have the urge to pick up a controller. I think GTA V may be the last game I buy for a long time.

For me, PC games are the same as reading and movies - cycles of interest and disinterest.

Errg, the worst part of AC series returns to AC3 in full force. The micromanaging business BS!!! I don't want to buy wood then sell it for a profit. I want to assassinate people!!! :(

What you guys are experiencing is what happens with al consoles. Near the end of a generation - things get stale.
