Ferrari ships into port in New Jersey right? I wonder if any sitting in customs were damaged.

Hope you guys all made it to safety and dodged any damage.

I wonder. My new Mercedes is on its way over now. I hope it is ok. I think it comes into Baltimore any day now.

Unconfirmed rumor is 12,000 new cars were lost in port Newark as a result of the storm. Sounds high but seems reasonable that new inventory was lost.

Actually that seems low, if those lots were full. A handful of Fiskers alone burned from the flooding.

Concept of import is a bit way off say like in the 1950's way off, Ferrari uses containers to ship them what better and safer way, now the port of newark was hit so hard that a shipment
of karma fiskers were wipped out and Mazda cars for export were also damaged so there are a lot of cars going into the scrapper.

The Ferrari and Masers were not damaged. They are delivered by Horseless Carriage after being unloaded from containers. Therefore the Building they are in (302 Cranway St)has a loading dock to match the trailer. This puts them pretty high off the ground and safe. However all the car on the ground at FAPS (the port processor) are salt water totaled! Thousand of Volvos and others. The 16 Fiskers that went on fire are only the tip of Fiskars damage. At least 200 Fiscars are at the Port an all were submerged with salt sea water. I was at the Port on Wed and sadly saw for myself. FAPS does restoration on my cars and I had 2 cars there a original '60 Ford and an"88 Volvo 780 Bertone coupe. The water went over the sunroof of the Volvo. Car looks perfect but is in fact totally ruined. At least no one was hurt.

WOBentley - thank you so much for the info. I have a 458 in Port Newark and have been worried day and night.

    Questions:

How do you know that the Ferraris were not damaged? FAPS personnel told you so or is it based on your observation that the warehouse is higher up from the ground by the loading dock height and hence safe?

How does the FAPS facilities/warehouses look as far as damage wise?

You must be a VIP to have access to Port Newark on Oct 31st.

    Thanks.

Sent earlier. Bold is emphasized by me.
FCL is a full container load, LCL is less than a container.
