Are you sure your Espada was produced in 1971 ? All the cars I know around chassis #7996 have a production date in 1970.
What about this 1969 S1 Espada with the dark green color at Concorse d'italia 2003? It appears that a few of the Espada S1 and S2 cars have this color. Can anyone tell me what is the official name for this dark green color? Please advise. Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is the ex-Aaron Robinson S1, non original color (Mercedes or BMW or Bentley modern color, I don,t remember...) Philippe S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com
Bob S. made an error. His Espada was produced 1970-09-11 not 1971-09-11, but problably registered as a 1971 (like mine...) Philippe S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com
Hi Bob, Hard to tell if it is the original color, it looks a little like verde acqua or verde carabo on my other computer, too bright for verde pallido. There is no color under the hidden surfaces (lights, rear window...), strange..... Who knows the exact history of that poor car ... Philippe S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com
I know the owner. He is a board member of the ILOC and also owns the red Jalpa with "NE-FR 35" plates that was shown at the ILOC tent at Schloss Dyck Classics 2011 and 2012: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=141650710&postcount=150
Would you please find out if the dark green is the original factory color for his Espada? If so what is the Italian name of the color and/or color code ?
The darkest green I know of are Verde Met, Verde rio Met and Verde Scuro. A deep dark green is not original color for an Espada. The dark green you may looking for could be Verde Uccello di mare, special color on a Miura 4978. Philippe S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com
Yes guys 9/11/1970 (eery date that) and I assume it was first registered as a 71. The original car we were discussing is clealy later than mine.
I'm confirming too there is no such dark green in the Espada Lambo paintchart. But in the Jarama paintchart there is one darker than the others but not like what you are looking for. One of the pics you show is from Peeters Auto Exclusive in Netherlands, the car was resprayed with Rolls Royce original paint. I saw it and it had a plate with the paint code, for once an intelligent & preventive behavior !!!
I would like thank several of you for looking into the dark green color. I like the color, but too bad it is not one of the original colors from the factory. Paul J emailed me a color chart for Espada-Urraco S indicated that there were at least 17 exterior and 8 interior factory colors as shown below. Does anyone have a source for an english translation of the Espada "Istruzioni Techniche"??? I have an original copy in Italian, but it is time consuming to translate. Thanks John
I think that there inexpensive copies in English on Ebay. Mine is in English and has an orange cover "Manuale D'Officina Espada - Jaram L403". But I think that there were some discussions on VLG about the Italian version as having more information in it? Check the files section there for downloads. Bob S.
No and that is the only one that I've seen. You might want to contact Jim Kaminski. That should keep you busy for a couple of months LOL (it's an inside joke for lambo people who've been around for a while). He does have more samples but getting to see them might be difficult. BTW he's in Florida.
thats a good one Bob!!! My sweetheart was pissed at me that night at le belle machinne because i spent so much time talking to Valentino and left her to just LISTEN to that other guy . Gary Espada 8384 P.S i gotta think for the money Espadas went for in the day you could get any frikin colour you wanted and i would bet some did. yours for example is original Azue blue yes?
Oh I KNOW you paid for that one ... LOL. No, mine is Acqua Verde. Green water, which right now after hurricane Sandy hit is in great abundance around here ... LOL!
We're OK. Without power for a week but the race trailer generator saved the day! Power is back on now just in time for election coverage. Another disaster hits the USA ... LOL
