I don't think Seb is going to have that easy of a time moving forward. There are two long straights. and Red Bulls are slowest cars in the field in a straight line, plus his KERS hasn't been all that reliable and he's going to use up his tires faster trying to pass.

Should be fun to watch though.

First one who complains about a lack of passing tomorrow gets shunned.

The trick your missing here is the Redbully cars lose there advantage when following cars, they really come in to there own, in open air up front, Vettel needed pole badly.

Horner: "After speaking with the stewards, who accepted the situation of force majeure for technical reasons for the car to be stopped, unfortunately, for reasons yet to be fully understood, 850ml of the required one litre was pumped out of the car following post race checks."

WOW!! What next! Bernie didnt tell me his new script involved this :) As planned this is going down to the last race - ha ha! :)

FA should sleep a bit better tonight. He has said the updates have not been enough. Im hoping for the best, but Austin should favor the Red Bull to some degree.

Tomorrow should be great at least until lap 3 when LH has his 10 second cushion set up. Then well, a procession of sorts Im afraid. FA just needs to avoid trouble and score points.

I didn't miss it man :D. The other guy did, saying Vettel was going to catch up to Alonso. I said no way. Eigth is his absolute best chance IMO, and I doubt he'll get there, unless aided by the safety car. Forget about the aero issue you mentioned (which is true); RBs are the slowest on the striaghts, and that by itself will be a problem with all the traffic he's going to be dealing with. Plus the lack of downforce you mentioned. I don't think he'd get past Massa... if he catches up with him. Will be an interesting race to watch.

Vettel is a good racer and should be able to pass people given the cars pace. Im not about to count him out of a good finish. He does know how to pass and has proven so on a number of occasions.

It certainly will not be an ideal day for him!

Not much conspiracy here...it happened to Hamilton at a critical juncture also. If you run out of fuel, you rolled the dice and crapped out. It's as simple as that.

Don't know as it hasn't dropped but I suspect that there's an issue beyond the low fuel.

Im not sure. Horner looked rather silly/not comfortable saying Renault called the shutdown. Make sense though as it was about to run out of fuel. I agree with RickSB. What shoe is there.

They ran out of gas or were about too and conjured up a course of action and gambled 1 litre would be drained. They lost.

So far nothing in the press world about any other issues for the car. Maybe its a shoe that falls off in the morning.

Vettel was probably running on vapours because he needed pole bad style, and the pace set by the Mclarens in practise showed what they were up against ....it has back fired it seems.

There was a mechanical issue that raised gas consumption.

I think maybe there was something not quite right with the car, but I think it was more brake related, however you may be right, not easy to work out if there is some double bluffing going on though.

The car was quite a load in that Q3 session, beyond brake issues. It looked highly unbalanced and Vettel looked pretty grim at the presser.

I wouldn't mind any 'dnf' drama for Vettel...Alonso had 2 of them which virtually handed his lead to Vettel.

This level of disbelief, distrust and cynicism in an F1 thread is shocking.
