Great pictures, I especially like the red car in the backround, rare to see any pictures of one of those!
At the recent 2012 FCA International Meet / 50th Anniversary in Palm Springs I was fortunate to find a highly informed 288GTO owner. We started talking about the 365GTB/4 varieties, Daytona seats, and vintage restorations then went for a ride in his 288 GTO. Note the jerks in camera work at each gear shift change as I'm thrown back in the seat [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJqj0vqt4QQ[/ame] Since the 288 GTO was produced and released into the wild at one of the formative years of car appreciation in my life it made a huge impression on me then and in 2012 this ride was truly one of the thrills of a life time. Big Thanks to owners who are so casual and spread such enthusiasm for the marque. Write up on the Red Shark here: http://emcpb.blogspot.com/2012/10/gto-ride-at-fca-2012-international-meet.html . . Fascinating car the GTO Evoluzione is. Car # 1 testing in the period. Clearly a prelude to the F40 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Whilst not all GTO Evos were created equal, 79888 was kindly supplied to my 2009 Reunion by LS and it is a fine specimen to be sure. Here it is parked next to the last 288 GTO built, which arrived complete which personal letter from Enzo so stating. Well that's not an easy question to answer because they are so different. I love a genuine F40LM from the original series and there is no question that it takes the F40 concept to its most aggressive & competitive disposition. However the GTO Evo is very special too, borne as it was out of a desire to compete in the cancelled Group B series, and I quite like its rawness.
