here is working link... http://cgi.ebay.fr/book-Ferrari-in-camera--/150825748507?pt=FR_JG_Auto_manuels&hash=item231dea481b SO envious... GT
According to the Palawan Press website: "There is only one copy of the leatherbound edition available for sale (GBP 2000.-). There are also a few copies of the clothbound edition still available (GBP 750.-)".
It is a phenomenal book. I would say the best Ferrari photo book out there. Now, whether it's worth that much........ George
$2500 for the blue version is pretty optimistic. This seems to be confirmed by the lack of bids. I paid about half that for mine, and I consider that about what the book's value is.
There is one in 'le art et automobile''s current auction, bidding set to begin at $500USD No action on it, so far, but 20 days to the end of the auction.
I think similar about model cars in the $ XXX.XX range. But regarding Ferrari in Camera. I agree with others. It's the best book on Ferrari historic motor racing and a bibliographic jewel. I paid ~ $400,-- back in 1996 for it and think, this is what it's worth. Maybe a certain premium, because it so rare. But no way 2000. Best Regards Martin
How about this one? http://www.alibris.co.uk/booksearch?qwork=14724871&qcond=6&qsort=p&matches=1&cm_sp=works*listing*buynew £4,033.44 !! - someone's having a laugh! Nathan
Must be the same seller (same description) on AbeBooks, http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=7799212828&searchurl=an%3DNYE%252C%2BDOUGLAS%253B%2BGODDARY%252C%2BGEOFFREY
Good Lord... thats over $6500. Wow. Testing the waters i guess... Can't be a very motivated seller... Unless its the "Ferrari" edition with the red covers or another (more) limited print. GT
Anyone looking for a copy may check this website: http://www.autonetclassic.nl Or still better get in in touch with the publisher for a cheaper and new 'red' copy: http://www.palawan.co.uk/books/ferrariincamera.html
Hi George, You might want to take a look at this thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=313915 You will find all info you need. Unfortunately there is no information anymore on Palawan's website. I think the 'Red' edition is now sold out also. You could send them an e-mail to be sure. Maarten
From the Palawan website: There is only one copy of the leatherbound edition available for sale. There are also a few copies of the clothbound edition still available - please contact the publisher for details.
48 Geoffrey Goddard & Doug Nye: Ferrari in Camera; US$ 4,375 http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/19680/?list_grid_result=results#m1=1&b1=results
When I look on the website, I do not get this message. On your advise, though, I did send them a note. Thank you. George
OK, here is the reply from Palawan: There are a few copies available of the clothbound edition, hand bound in red buckram. The binding of a number of copies of the original printing did not meet our quality standards and were destroyed. Book blocks remaining from this original printing have now been assigned the numbers of these destroyed books and rebound in red, to distinguish them from the original binding, which was blue. There are only ten of these left, at a price of £750. We also have just one remaining copy of the leatherbound edition, which retails at £2000. Please let me know if you are interested in either of these editions. So here we have it. No need for anyone to speculate anymore. If you can afford it, I'd advise to order a copy.
