Maserati launched today official photos of the new Quattroporte VI. Its -IMHO- an evolution of the older and groundbraking design, so I am not sure if I like the new car or not (its the side view that is not soooo good for me). But what is really appealing to me is the interior/dash-board design. So lets hope, they have now a proper Media system installed.......! i think it looks like a BMW sideview and an Audi from the back, but interior is very very nice, looking forward to see the car live in Sweden
+1. Interior reminds me of my Infiniti. Not terribly Italian to me. The car suffers from the "Too Many Tridents" syndrome. We get that it's a Maserati. Did you notice that license plate .... Will it really have 530HP available as an option? It damn well should I suppose since the top Jags do. 4WD available?
I like it...probably would look awesome in Bianco Fuji. Can't wait to see it in person. Love my Granturismo S....may need to get a QP too!
Not as good as the QP design from 2005 IMO. The headlights look very CLS-ish. Like the interior, but if you removed the badges and said it was from Lexus I wouldn't have been surprised. There is less Maseratiness in the design than previous ones (granturismo remains possibly the prettiest car made today). Maybe that was their goal, to make the QP less polarizing to potential buyers over a 7-series or S-class.
The more they try to directly compete with Audi, Mercedes, BMW, etc. the harder it is to see the distinction of a Maserati ... The color choices of the car in that series of photos is bland and boring too. Compare a 1965 Quattroporte http://www.finecars.cc/en/detail/car/107248/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63 And this Mercedes http://www.finecars.cc/en/detail/car/186864/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63 Hard to be confused as to which is the Maserati ...
Existing car was gorgeous so don't F with a winning formula. Ask Coca Cola about that.... Interior is sharp too. Keep the exhaust sound and this is a WINNER!
I like the exterior, not happy with dashboard design (very important to me, since that's what I see most of the time anyway). Lost the originality,I hoped it would be even more driver-centric then the old one, instead it looks very generic to me,on par with Chrysler, definitely less appealing then M5 or CLS.
I assume this 4WD will based on the very advanced Ferrari FF-system. If so, then the new QPVI needs a V12 from that model and....a new Star is born! But its unlikely that the Masters of the (FIAT-) Universe will understand that........
Is this baby QP - or real one??? Where is the difference to the old version??? And what is the performance??? Questions over questions...
I agree with you regarding the v12 but i highly doubt they will ever do it :-( As for the 4WD it will be taken from the "Jeep universe" I was told....Let's wait and see. Apparently the FF system is too expensive for this car!
yeah! Switch the key first time in the FF and you lost $100k....! Would be a stupid decision from them as the FF-system in higher production-no.`s would clearly make money as a re-investment! The system would come cheaper!
Why not just re-body an Audi? They look pretty damn nice to me. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Really, that's what actually 'does it' for me with this car. The exterior is very much an Italian/German fusion IMO. It looks almost as if BMW were consulted with regards to the rear styling ques especially.
I like the new QP from the rear-side view! Struggle with the side view as the greenhouse is a little too low on the rear compared to the front.
BMWuick? Nose: GranTurismo. A good start. Side: Hyundai Equus L Taillights / trunk: BMW... or Audi Interior looks very nice. Very Audi-modern. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The Equus looks like the fat and homelier sister there but what's up with this color they're all using? Blah!
+1 it's like the putty they use to patch tile. A bunch of 10 second photoshop hue/saturation adjustments: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This gives a good comparison between old and new.... IMO The old one is a more lasting design but also a little too basic when compared to the muscular shape of the new one. The overall shape of the new one is a little too generic though I feel Image Unavailable, Please Login
