    True.
Well Webber and his team set his car up and made the decision that cornering speed was more important ... guess that didn't pan out.

my point exactly, I'd opt for a higher speed so that I wasn't screwed over for all the hard work in getting a good qualifying position (which he squanders anyway :( )

Yes (and I agree), but that's clearly not the way tifosi12 interpreted it judging by his response and penchant for vitriol aimed at Schumacher.

The theory is that he should start well and run away from the rest of the field, but of course we are talking about Webber who takes about 3 laps to get into the groove. So yes your point is taken.

I honestly reckon my Mazda 6 diesel could beat Webber in the first 10 metres of a race ... he is hopeless.

Yeah for the first 100 times I gave him a break, but not anymore. This is something that can be practiced and it is just an utter failure on his part.

Well, maybe it´s not entirely his fault. For the team it´s quite convenient that Webber doesn´t trouble Vettel in the first laps. He can recover later and get a second place, maybe crashing with a Vettel rival in the process.

If you say so. But first, let's just have a look at everything you've said the last few weeks when you're not regurgitating Planet F1 articles:

1.) You don't think anyone will miss MS being gone from F1. Really? Start with Bernie and then ask his other tens of millions of fans around the globe.
2.) You thought with 4 races to go in the championship Ferrari should be letting their drivers "race."
3.) You don't think Red Bull has team orders.
4.) You think Red Bull is unquestionably .9 seconds quicker than Ferrari based on Vettel's best lap while on fresh option tires and Alonso's best lap on worn prime tires at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

That's just the last few weeks.

Heh, I don't need to say anything else. DF1 embarasses himself enough through simply talking about F1, much less attempting to insult others. It's kinda sad, really.

The original question was the "root of Ferrari's issues"

IMO this goes back to when LDM basically sacked Ross Brawn [or never promoted him] despite winning WDC & WCC for many years. The guy deserved it and was thrown out because LDM wanted Italians to be in charge. The apprentices such as Domecalli, Costa en all were supposed to be ready...they werent. How can you release Brawn, todt, Martinelli and the brilliant Rory "better than Newey" Byrne in one go...utter madness and one that Ferrari are reaping the result of a biblical cock up by LDM.

How many top designers prior to this were sacked or left as Ferrari top management got restless with lack of results...Barnard, Postelthwaite, Nichols. These guys were no fools, they had a proven track record.

The problem is the structure of the team, it took Jean todt many years of battling to get his own way....look at how SD is now trying to pull togther three departments, IMO it doesnt work especially with Italian temperament added into the Bolognese sauce.

The wind tunnel problems were identified with the 2010 car when it was supposed to be "car to beat" in pre season testing. It wasnt and they blamed the wind tunnel. So why has it taken 2 years or more to attempt a fix. smells like BS to me.

The fact is and a reason why Ferrari took so many years to win the WDC & WCC was purely a result of their inability to organise themselves with so much in fighting. I remember reading a article by Alain Prost once, when he summed up the debrief with total silence, a shaking of the head, disbelief and eventually walking out. Not my favourite driver but again no mug.

So yes they are second but purely as a result of one brilliant spaniard who is unwilling to give up. Massa is no idiot but look at what he has achieved! The car isnt that bad but its not a championship winning car, Red Bull has that trophy because Newey's cars have no real opposition. They are the ones which are always pushing the boundaries.

I don't over estimate his talents, his record speaks for itself. Benetton, Ferrari, Honda, and then the finale with brawn gp.

His stint a MGP is a very good example of chaos in huge organisations...too many chiefs
