I think the old car may be one of the best looking large sedans made. I'll have to see this one in person, but my first impression is ... meh.
It has a resemblance to the Infiniti M series as well. It looks pretty good from the photos, but has certainly lost it's unique identity. I'll reserve final judgement until I see one in person.
In order to sell the huge numbers of Maseratis planned for the coming years they have to make cars that appeals to other than enthusiasts. This one is obviously not designed for us already converted. In order to steal customer from the german saloons the car have to look more like an everyday car. I have a hard time seeing this one being cherished 47 years from now like my QP1 If the badges were removed I would struggle to guess the brand, especially from the side
. I like the front, impressive and Maserati. The profile is nice too. . The rear, what were they thinking?? Honda/Chevrolet/Nissan/Audi...? . The interior seems very nice and luxurious (the shape of the dash is not as good looking as the current QP imo). . The engine looks fantastic. 530hp V8, that's fantastic Overall, is she as sexy and gorgeous as the current one?? Waiting to see it face to face before making any judgment... But that rear... The current QP is such a classic car, may be the best design ever for a sedan.
YYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS! Beat me to it.. Also a tad Lexus LS. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That' s not longer my car, I am very disappointed. The front, the side, ok - but the rear? What is it? Everyting but not Maserati - the car lost everything what the Quattroporte V was standing for. The interior is horrible in my opinion. Realy a step backwards, Where is the individuality? The car cannot enthuse the owner of a QV.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EldfoAZ51PM&feature=youtu.be&hd=1 F1 fans will know this man....I'm impressed.
a bit too generic, not enough Italian in it IMO. still looks decent. the interior looks good but apparently every FIAT group car is using that exact steering wheel...my Grand Cherokee has it, as does the new Viper. I guess that means the new Ferraris will have it soon too
love it. but a) I'm a redneck and b) I'm a HUGE Jeep fan...between me, my parents and sister we've owned 9 or 10.
The media screen is soo poorly fited. Jesus, italians really are bad at that. Maybe they should talk to their kitchen designers, these are pretty good when it comes to fitting.
Nice car but IMO a complete fail, it looks like all the rest of the nice cars. Why purchase a high end expensive car when it looks like a Lexus or a Ford? Sure they want to impress the larger crowd, but I think they crossed the line into blandness.
I like it. Front is not great. Neat dynamic lines around C-pillar. Every car looks a bit like something else. People still buy Rolex even though a lot of other watches look similar.
Some people eat oatmeal every day too, buyers for these products want to stand out! Who wears a Rolex anymore?
And its also too low positioned! In almost every BMW 5 you can order a head-up display in the front screen. Seems that the Italians are not abe to get it into such car .
Four videos at http://www.autoblog.com/2012/11/06/maserati-releases-quartet-of-videos-featuring-new-quattroporte/#continued Some good views of the details Also a comment about new engine displacements but no specifics. Regarding the problem of it looking like ______ I think that in person, the dimensions and proportions will make it clear that it isn't a ______. Those qualities aren't obvious from studio pictures.
The previous model will always be the best looking to me. I absolutely love the style of this model. My favourite 4 door car by miles. Nothing compares. If I ever came across one I could afford ... I'd never sell it. photo from: http://www.classicandperformancecar.com Pete Image Unavailable, Please Login
where is the motor ? oh wait there it is under a very sassy plastic cover that happens to look like well ... a motor sort of maybe almost . Why cover a beautiful thing with a rendering of what appears to be a beautiful thing . This is one of the many reasons i dont like new cars anymore . kinda reminds me of batmans costume now. 2009-2012 models were the best imo. The wheelbase is too long and the back is meh. Looks more comfort oriented than sportiness.
In brand competition it helps to differentiate oneself, and this QPIV doesn't do that from the rear. I like the front, I like the evolution of the C-pillar design but side proportions aren't as effective as the previous model. - And what's with the giant empty space between the main gauges. Nothing but The Trident on a blue background? I hope this is actually a flat screen to display the smaller gauges.... Any more details on the dash?
Too many sharp lines. It has lost the elegance and style of the current QP, which exudes classic Italian design and grace. It's a nice looking car, but I'm not feeling the passion. It just doesn't feel as special as the last few years of QP design, which very well might be the most gorgeous sedans I have ever seen.
