Sergio's is still on a learning curve McLaren can't afford that especially since their cars are so unreliable

Who says Kimi wanted to go back there?

I predict McLaren is going to have some less competitive years ahead. Just a feeling I have.

Still better than Lotus - I agree it's gonna be tough for McLaren But also for Ferrari because Red Bull are going to become a unstoppable force with unlimited funds

+1. Newey and cash = a great combination. For a driver with talent a Red Bull seat would be a nice choice above some other teams right now.

Independent of McLaren's future performance, I'm not so sure they'd want him as a driver. I don't think there's anyone else with a WDC title whose performance and motivation is so unpredictable. One day he's driving circles around everyone else, the next day he seems to genuinely prefer eating ice cream to finishing the race... we may love this attitude, but it's horrible from a team perspective, IMHO.

Give Red Bull another 5 years and their seat will the most wanted in F1
FOTA is already excluding them from meetings because of the threat they pose

Kimi has been the most consistent driver of the season IMO. Finished outside the points once and that was because of a gamble/figuring the tires out. Finished 9th once and 7th twice, the rest all in the top 6 and many podiums...He and Alonso have been class of the field all season long.

Kimi is hot property and any team will be very lucky to have him racing for them. Lets wait how next year goes; if the car is quicker and able to challenge for wins more often I can see him staying, otherwise going to another top team (Red Bull pretty likely; gets on with Vettel well, the consistent rumours of Webber retiring in 2014, previous history with their rally team and he fits in with the teams image).

Kimi at Red Bull would be quite a bit of fun. I like that idea!

I still can't understand why Red Bull didn't sign him for 2013. I was convinced this season at Lotus was just an audition to prove he still had it.

Good points. I was thinking mainly about his semiimpressive seasons 2008/2009, but you're right about this year.

I disagree simply because I think McLaren is looking towards the future, Kimi could once again just say forget it and make another fast exit.

Mecca is going to do well I think.

Kimi, when I met him last year in Charlotte, was wearing a RB hat...if Vettel leaves his seat open, Kimi might be the guy who fills it.

kimi and vettel are good friends. they would be a great force working together at red bull. always knew Ferrari was playing games with him because they didn't like his attitude that's the only reason massa beat him his last season there.

if i were him i don't think i'd want to go to mclaren right now

He had that chance this year and blew it. He won't be offered again.

McLaren wants to pair an experienced driver with a younger one. Not that Perez has proven to be the next Schumacher but they want to develop his talent.

If anything McLaren should have replaced Button with Kimi. Still I don't think Kimi would be up for rejoining McLaren especially after he will beat both of their drivers in this year's WDC.

IMO I think Kimi in regards to an offer, if Mclaren made one which I highly doubt, would have gone something like "Been there, done that and I will not fall for it again". I base that strictly on Kimi's mentality regarding F1, he just wants to race and be leftout of all the 'soap opera' nonsense and politics.

Kimi is such a unique character. May be his laid back and no nonsense attitude could bode well with Redbull.

+1 if Kimi is going anywhere after Lotus I'd put my money on Red Bull as a Vettel replacement for when he moves to Ferrari in 2014 :D

would make for awesome press conferences, F1's two best entertainers in front of a microphone-the driest of the dry plus the verbose and witty Vettel, An "inside F1" show following the the Red Bull team with those two as drivers would be a great show : ) not to mention the interviews with Newey that I have read in the past show him to be an amusing fellow as well. Dr. Helmut Marko the evil Austrian and natural villain with Christian Horner as the sympathetic good guy stuck in the middle....

    Who's got a TV production company??? : )
