Agreed. I only saw the EVO once at the factory and it really looks like a monster that is a work in progress. Which as you say, is part of the appeal.

However, i think i would prefer an F40LM..I had 10 posters of it in my room when i was a teenager ( this series..http://www.car-poster-gallery.com/images/plakate/classics/2008117163929-p50204030.jpg). The car looks like a serial killer. Have they gone up in price? $1.5M now?

It's really amazing to see how the 288 GTO became the EVO and how the EVO became the F40 and then how the F40 became the F40LM. It's really nice to see how these cars all evolved out of the one idea and principle. They're from an era at Ferrari that we will never see again.

    What a group!

Any more pics of the group please? from the front, rear, etc ;o)

I wonder if the 'F70' will spawn an 'XX' car or an ultra light like the 288 GTO Evo and F50GT or both.. dreaming!

The Book of the Ferrari 288 GTO is offered on ebay today by Midlifeclassiccarbooks with a 4 day shipping schedule. Is it in print? Amazon still lists it as a Jul 2013 publish date and I have been patiently on the reserve wait list for about 2 years. Is it available? Thanks, Ed Joganic

My recommendation is to only buy via Amazon or the publisher directly, Veloce Publishing UK http://www.veloce.co.uk/shop/index.php

Although I have completed my side and submitted text, illustrations & images, note that the book is NOT yet in print and will not be till sometime in 2013. The reason is that Ferrari SpA is holding up publication of several Ferrari books because of a copyright licensing agreement that they want publishers to join them in. This means publishers make even less money and at this rate there soon will not be any motivation for any Ferrari books to be published. So there you have it, I cant even tell you if the 2013 date will be met unless the publisher and Ferrari resolve their differences (or come to an agreement). Anyone who has published will tell you the writer has only so much pull in the process. I do believe it will be published, but it may take another year. Bear in mind too that several Ferrari books have already been delayed 3 years + because of this.

Publishing the successful Lamborghini Miura book http://joesackey.com/the-lamborghini-miura-bible/ was a breeze by comparison. It sailed through without so much as a sideways glance from the Lamborghin factory! :)
