The BBC had a quote from Carlos Slim earlier stating in no uncertain terms Gutierrez would be at Sauber next year. This morning say around 10am here in Europe. So much for the official announcement!

No surprise. Money talks especially for mid field teams.

Well, there still is a chance that he can land somewhere else, ain't? He just needs to
find a bit of cash. If he cannot join another team, yes, it will be a shame.

Hoping he lands a ride in F1. He's better than a Petrov, etc., but $ talks. Maybe he'll be in a Mclaren in 2014 when Honda comes back in as an engine manufacturer....

He seems like an exciting driver. He generated plenty of buzz in F1 at times. Im thinking he will be racing somewhere.

He would be another great add to Indycar.
Redbull should have a team in Indycar and take all the F1 leftovers.

I'm not sure Sauber are going to be too happy with a sponsor making announcements like this before the Team announces anything.

While I regret a lot of what's happened to F1 as long as people like Peter are around I have hope.

It's not really necessary to know Peter Sauber personally to admire and respect him. There's a saying that covers Peter Sauber: He's one of life's true Gentleman!

Over the years he's proven himself to be a genuine guy and a true racer. He's always done what's best for his team and F1 in general, often to his own personal cost.

(People who do know him have said that when it comes to dealing with a driver who has made a stupid error or under-performed, he leaves them in no uncertainty about his displeasure, despite the public calm, quiet, understated nature that he purveys. If a driver needs a strip tearing off then he does the tearing!)

Basically, he's highly respected, not only in F1 but in Motor-sport in general, and he deserves better than having a team sponsor making driver announcements on his teams behalf! (no matter how much money they provide the team!)

+1 This actually sounds like a possibility, other than bringing in cash
