Finally, after what was going back and forth for over a year, I got a visor signed by Alonso for my full scale Alonso replica helmet!

This was a very long story, the bottom line is, that he signed the visor during the (rained out) tests in Silverstone. It took a long time to get the visor back here, but I'm glad it finally arrived.
The helmet is a replica I found on ebay. Comes from a vendor in South America. They do amazing work in replicating all these helmets.

The helmet is in good company with Irvine and Schumacher next to it. :)

Sorry for bragging, but this was an endless project. Glad it is finally done.

If you look closely you can (maybe) spot the Massa card in the cabinet. It is actually signed by him. I liked Massa a lot better when he was driving for Sauber.

PS: I'm actually searching now for a 1/12 scale Massa helmet as I will eventually build a F1 Ferrari model with him in it. Jumping over my own shadow I guess.

    Very cool, thanks for sharing!

It's a good thing you aren't getting replica Vettel helmets, you'd need a whole room at the rate he changes helmet designs! :D

Congrats. Alonso's is a very nice helmet, especially signed!

You have quite a collection. Eddie Irvine's Bieffe is an awesome collector's piece too :)

Would you mind sharing who in South America is producing these replicas?

Here is a link to one of their auctions on ebay:

I'm particularly proud of the Eddie Irvine helmet as it is one with the original Marlboro logos. You can't find those anymore. Oh and BTW: I have one spare Irvine helmet for sale. Unsigned, if anybody is interested. :)

They are a good company and deliver the goods as promised. I have no affiliation but gladly recommend them.

One of the many turns and twists in the Alonso helmet/visor story was to get a replacement visor and I ordered that from bianchi2009bianchi. Although they don't advertise it, they sure enough came through.

So THAT'S where the visor I signed as Alonso ended up.

Nice F1 collection, I should really start working on mine as I have several items ie a base. I like the Rockets clock was that from their one of their championship seasons?

    +1
    :)

This is only part of my F1 collection btw. This is the "shrine" with the more precious/signed items.

No idea. Not a basketball fan but I love the clock because it says Houston and has a rocket: I'm also a big fan of the space program. :)

Sig is difficult to see because he signed it with a black Sharpie on a tinted visor. Duh!

    Very cool!!!

That was the worst Rockets logo ever! LOL.

Gregg, that was the Rockets logo redesign around '98 I believe. The championship year logo was the red and yellow

Hmm, you might be on to something: Pretty much after I got the sigs of various F1 drivers, they never became WDC champions anymore:

Brabham, Fittipaldi, Jones, Prost, Schumacher, Raikkoenen

I think the only one who escaped this curse was Mansell.
