What's the delay with these??? For Gods sake man, you can't drive her correctly without these installed! Btw, correct term is "racing aluminum pedals"
Hi Chris, Did i miss your car in this line up??? It would probably take three pages just to list the stuff you've done I forgot to mention Birdman's fine fuse box, all new relays and an Optima red top,Also not yet installed: Gleggy's georgous skid plate and timing belt interior plates, (don't know what else to call them). I also have but have not yet installed the air injection plugs. I wish i had the funds to go into the engine like The Pizza Dude did but it seems to be pushing the old 3200 pound crate along just fine. (fingers crossed against the evil sodium valve curse). Ever hopefull, i remain, chris
This is getting like The Twelve Days of Christmas! "On the first day of Christmas I modd-ed my G-T-B... One Birdman fuseblock, four Brembo rotors, new Tubi headers, and a partridge in a pear tree..."
It is too early for the xmas spirit! Ignore the shopping mall decorations and wait until after thanksgiving, please
This could have been one of the best threads ever on FChat if it had pics. Instead I was bored by page 2. Any chance we could "redo" this thread with pics and make it great?
Hi Bill, I'd be hapy to post some photos, particularly the brake and suspension mods. What do you want to see more of?? chris
Threads that describe my car's modifications: The GTS/B hybrid look Removing the rear wing Retro dash and wheel Aluminum pedals The 100,000 mile thread, "It's pretty much scrap these days" 355 wheels are finally mounted and look great (IMHO)
I don't understand the metal brake/clutch pads. Rubber works fine in my car and also my Aston Martin. Is it just a visual thing? Also the Ferrari is so nice, I really don't understand all the many mods people have done. Why not purchase a much new Ferrari if you want to have a more advanced car? Don't ruin the car - its not a Honda that you can hop up like teenagers have done. Ferrari is a classic and you should honor the designer's original wish. The exception would be a track car. Mod it. But please no rice rocket Ferrari 3XX for me! Just my opinion.
+1 I just dont get this metal pedal thing either. Having said that, most of the mods people have done seem sensible, improving areas of the car which were originally compromises, and I definitely understand the thinking behind modifying US cars to Euro spec. There is not much "boy racer" stuff going on. Except the pedals... I dont think I would want to do any suspension mods on a GTS though, the chassis is not up to it, too bendy. This is no Lotus Elise.
Forgive me but, how are those bars made? They seem to be sections welded together. Not sure how that would work as the whole thing is a spring. Having welded corners like that would crack unless I am missing something...
Welded corners is no problem , the torsion in the long tube is the working part. The used material is more important for how it works.
the shorter list would be whats not been touched also wanted to give heads up to the modifiers, just got back from another great show at SEMA, and have quite a few new custom engineered products that Nick will be carrying shortly. just waiting on a status change from Rob here before I post any details. But I think you guys will like what's coming, it's only taken 2yrs to get here but hey better than never! I also like to think of it as updating vs modifying, new materials, improved designs etc.. then it's full on no holes barred wallet draining speed!

+1 plus the material use on those bars is made of 4130 chrome moly steel that has special welding specially design for chrom moly steel, very very strong.

I do still have all the original parts "just in case"
In my case, the original pedal rubber and the dead pedal were flat worn out. Since I had to replace anyway, why not got for the bling? Mine actually have a raised pattern on the brake and clutch pedals that improve grip.
My 308 has racing cams, twin turbocharger, a coffee can exhaust, carbon fiber stick-ons throughout the passenger and engine compartment, muffler removed, and flames painted on the fenders. Naaah. . . just kidding! I understand what you are saying: These are not "Boy Racer" modified Civics or the like! I think that what we are talking about here are some (a) minor personal preference modifications, like Yoshields and drilled pedals, which are easily reversed and mostly just cosmetic, and (b) improvements over the few weak points, such as adding Dave Helms' fuel lines, Birdman's fuse box, a better ignition, or Hyper-Flow cats. (Face it, the OEM cats were crap to start with, and if they've lasted 30+ years already, it's obviously time to replace them with something better.) Some things I've heard talked about that I would never do to a 308 (which might be a subject for another thread): Cadillac Northstar engine; turbos or superchargers; "Challenge" style racing stripes; permanent trip computer/GPS installation; phony exhaust tips. . .
