I'll hang out at Ambience mall this afternoon. Not holding my breath in hopes of spotting exotics. Actually I think you'd have to be TOTALLY INSANE to drive a nice car here! The traffic, the road quality, etc; not exotic friendly at all!!!!

    Cheers,

    DL
ps: Its so damn HOT here!!!!

It's supposed to get hotter towards the end of the week. I've been in India for 14 out of the last 24 months, it's ridiculous. I'm gonna get back to just taking short 2-week trips instead of this whole being here for long periods of time thing.
Ambience in Gurgaon I'm not sure about, but if you wanna see a few exotics (usually parked out front) then the places like Leela Palace (Vasant Vihar in Delhi I think) and Emporio mall (in Vasant Kunj, also in Delhi) would be two good places. Oberoi hotel is also a good spot, frequented by politicians and the like.

As far as people having to be crazy to drive a nice car around here (let alone an exotic)... I agree. Then again people do manage not to always smash them up. There's been times where I've seen tuk-tuks, Marutis, and an R8 or a 911 sharing the same one and a half lane of road with less than 6 inches between vehicles. Crazyness.

How long are you in India for?

WOW! If they tried to charge $1,000/hr for something that is legally mine, I would lawyer up and I would probably win because they have no authority.

What part of Texas are you from? I've lived in Austin and Houston! :)

True, and as far as I remember, most courts do want some kind of justification for something like that. That's like me going in and saying "Well yes I was subpoenaed... but I want $50,000 per hour for my time". Courts have specific witness fees, so if you get $50, then that's what you get. And I'm sure clicking on a button doesn't waive any statute of limitations ;-)

I'm back and forth a lot, mostly Toronto and Austin, North-West Austin :)

reminds me of the contracts local car dealers make you sign on buying one of their cars ... totally one-sided ...

when i decided to hammer a marque in a local court, they found out the hard way that it meant squat ...

Drove (actually as a passenger) through "Embassy Row" and parliament district in Delhi. Beautiful area with actual NICE roads. Its no wonder that in this environment I saw many more high-end Euro cars. They were all sedans though; no sports cars. This would be a nice place to jog/walk in the winter-time, but too hot this time of year.

Went to the the Imperial Hotel and had dinner at The Spice Route. NOW HEAR THIS -- If you ever get to Delhi you've got to go to this restaurant. The food is great, but the ambiance is truly AMAZING. Apparently the restaurant interior and decor took 7 yrs to complete! Apparently its ranked as one of the Top 10 restaurants globally by some Asia travel publication.

Thanks for the suggestions!!! Now I'm off to Prague for 3 days.

    DL

    Hi Don !
I am glad that you enjoyed the place :)
Now though late but at The Lalit you could have come across 512M, Lambo Jalpa and Merc SL500. These cars are usually parked over there.

Also there is Cannonball Supercar Club based in Delhi.
    http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/super-cars-imports-india/93623-cannonball-club.html

I doubt they were having any event during your stay here. With this club you could have spotted almost all the high-end sports cars in Delhi :)
