Now that Austin is on the official FIA calendar, will the race really happen?

  1. Yes, it will happen.

The weather is quite nice for the race this weekend and I may actually throw caution into the wind and tempt fate. My last chance too see MS on track.

EDIT: Just got off the phone with a USGP rep regarding my volunteer status for this years race and it is a 'no go' for the race or the viewing party they are having downtown. Alot of 'this and that' involved but that is par for the course and should be expected with a new venue.

Fools, if you think this race is happening. This race will never happen! Just go back 200+ pages and you can see that it will never happen.

? Gustavo? Who is this in reference to?
    Thanks.
    Kevin

BTW - this race was on the front page of Yahoo News; great exposure there.

Tavo is short for Gustavo. Like Rick for Richard.

I'm not going to the race, but I saw restaurant on "Burger Paradise" that I thought might be of interest to some. It's called Wild Bubba's. it's a wild game burger place with an F1 theme. The place looked awesome. It's apparently right by the track.

I've been over there a few times, great laid back place & they have done a fantastic job educating the locals on F1. Problem is during race week it's going to be a difficult place to visit traffic wise.

Well either way, I wish them the best of luck. They interviewed a bunch of customers on the show and a majority were wearing F1 memorabilia so it looked like they were to get the word out. They even talked about a burger the owner named the "f1" or something similar and said he did so in honor of the upcoming GP.

No biggy brother as I am just happy to have another US GP and fortunate enough that the track is only a few hours drive away and will have other racing events.

    Schumacher for the win!!! :D

    Thanks for the heads up!

I am just south of downtown (15 min. from the track) so I will be taking the shuttle at 15th & Trinity. It's going to be a crazy weekend!

    Ciao,

    SRR

If I had the cash I'd totally take a helicopter to and from the track on Sunday.

Nah, it's not that bad... only $545 for the round trip (they say whole day, but I doubt there is much back and forth). http://www.charliebravocharter.com/cota/

I'll bet they are pretty booked up though.

I fond $550 when I looked. I would have been seriously tempted had it been under $300 for the day.

$550 is relatively cheap. At the EDC festival, it's $500 from the Las Vegas Airport to the Speedway. One way. $800 round trip.
