Austin Attendance - FChat Meet Up

I was really looking forward to going this year. but looking at the hotel prices its making me think twice about it.

also i still don't see where the wheelchair seating is at the track!

 

FYI - there a BBQ gathering at Camp Mabry Friday evening 16th.

 

I'll be at the race and I'm a local so I'm down for whatever meet ups we can get together. I may also be able to help out with some affordable accommodations, but I won't know for another month or so about that.

 

I am hosting parties all three days, too!

Confirming entertainment line ups now.....

There's an Italian restaurant across the street, also Lucy's Chicken...big parking lot for short term RV parking (if you need long term we'll put you close by) and grocery, liquor and lingerie store also walking distance.

The topless bar, is eight blocks south, but 'Michelle' is TAKEN!!!!!!!

 

I'll be there...have a variety of choices on where to stay with friends, but think it will be out near Lago Vista. Probably bringing the 550.

 

Yea, I don't think Austin has exotic rentals, you could always set one up in Houston, tho.....

Doubt you want to sit in traffic heading to the track in one of these, but I'm sure lots of folks will be cruising South Congress in them.

We are bringing our motorhome also.
Does anyone know of a good place to park near the track?
We did it in Indy each year. We just parked West of the track in the flat field.
There are several houses around the the track in Austin. Have they put up signs yet about parking or camping in their front yard?
We don't need hook-ups just a place to park.

Alright so what's the plan guys, do we want to plan a meet/greet Friday or Saturday at the track? Or do we want to try and all converge somewhere in the downtown area with all the commotion of the F1 Fan Fest?

I hear the drivers and teams are arriving in town today. I wonder if any will be out and about in the city tonight...

 

Austin news is reporting that Ferrari arrived today. I'm heading to Austin tomorrow, I'm ready for a extra long weekend of Formula One fun.
