Not sure if that is completely true. 2007 incorporated the interior upgrades from the later years, but not the OTO roof option or manietto switch. I have an 07 HGTC and it shifts quicker than non-HGT cars and incorporates the CC brakes and tubi exhaust.

The OTOs introduced in 08, and the Sessantas from 07, have a new Type F133H engine, the 599 dual plate clutch and transaxle case, standard CCMs, and the F1 Superfast system with 100 ms min shift time. The HGTC (and HGTS) package on the earlier 612s has approximately 160 ms shift times (Ferrari quotes 10% improvement on the 180 ms of the standard 612). The HGT2 package on the OTO has the 599 HGTE upgrades to the F1 TCU and min shift time is reduced to 85 ms. The only things faster for a dry plate clutch F1 system were the Scud/16M and 599 GTO at 60 ms.

There is a pretty good price differential between the earlier 612s and the OTOs, but both are bargains considering they were the most expensive regular production cars Ferrari offered and often exceeded $350K in MSRP.

I bought a Flying Spur with Blizzaks for winter, to avoid the 612 snow "experiment".

Hello every one, need your opinion please.

i just realized that one of the big differences between a 2008 to a 2009+ is that 2009 and on has some changes such as

    Ferrari manettino switch
    panoramic roof
    etc

can some one please chime in if you have a 2009 or 2008 and let me know your thoughts if this is some thing you can really feel, can you tell the difference ? is it worth it to get a later year etc

    much appreciated.

Daniel- The manettino and roof are small changes compared to the new engine and 599 dual plate clutch and transaxle case, plus standard CCM brakes.

In my opinion, the transmission makes a huge difference. The roof is nice too, but the transmission is the big thing. CC brakes were always available, and became standard in 2007, just before the Sessanta.

I drove a 599--But I have heard (From 2 well known mechanics) that the 599 has had issues--which is why there are so many out there for sale.

How about the 612---Any mechanical issues or other problems that people would like to mention? Also, the 599 was incredibly fast--on my test drive.

How does the 612 compare?? Would like to know all before jumping in.

    Thanks,

    Ken Goldman

2008 is the key change year - they came out with the HGT2 package, w cc brakes, Bose system etc. The exhaust sound is awesome - I just saw one at Ferrari of fort lauderdale, 2008 best optioned one of I seen. I would jump on. It if I didn' already own one
