Guys, I'm sorry, but there are no conspiracies in qualy for gawds sake! Each side of the each garage does as much as they can for their man, and lets 'em at it. No screwing around during Q3. Team orders in the race -No problem, depends on who's where.
Dayum! Just watched his pole lap from the onboard. The kid is pretty good. What I'd love to ask a few of 'em is why don't they trim top speed ala The Cans? Anyone got the speed trap times? I believe they're saying they're ~10mph down on top speed - if I were out there, I'd crank on more DF and see where it got me - Losing 10mph may buy me a bunch of time if the Cans are to be believed.
He did - But I rewound it and don't think it ever hit the limiter - It was right there, but I don't think it ever missed a beat. McHam OTOH was certainly on his a few times.....
+1 Why I watched it again - Figured I'd hear it missing. But no - I believe he was just *right* at the limit - The perfect setup......
Fixed it for you . Unfurtunately, there's always that chance. And it'd be FORTUNATE for Ferrari . At least nobody can blame the car alone for Alonso qualifying 8th this time. Good job Phil. Team orders will be in place before the race even begins. That'll hurt Ferrari in the WCC, but they probably don't care. Now to the race outcome needed tomorrow. Again, barring disaster, Vettel should win the race from pole. If Alonso finishes 5th, he'd be 25 points behind Vettel, and SV would be WDC tomorrow due to having more wins. Therefore, FA needs to finish 4th or better if Vettel wins. I think it's VERY doable, so barring disaster on both sides, the championship should go to Brazil. But there's more likelihood of Vettel winning tommorow than I realized. Hope it goes to Brazil though. We'll see tomorrow. Those attenting the race, have a blast folks.
Fools! Seriously, if I were a mid-fielder - And right now, they pretty much *all* are versus the Cans, I'd add D/F. Nothing to lose and maybe much to gain. Or are they too stubborn and determined to follow their own "programs"?..... **** it, I'd try copying the Cans! Cheers, Ian
You start by collecting Newey's DNA serepticiously, clone it, educate the clone, give it F1 experience and then have it design you a car. Nothing to it. I saw it done in a movie.
No problem..... Again, seriously, I don't get it; They all know exactly how much wing needs adding (front & rear) to reduce V-max by 10 mph. WTF don't they try it? Cheers, Ian
If they were smart they'd have real jobs that didn't require nights and weekends. Not to mention all that travel.
Good going by Schumacher. What was wrong with Nico's car? Awesome drive by Lewis. I'm nervous for Lewis going to Mercedes next year. Hopefully there's some big plan for Mercedes next year, otherwise Lewis and Jaques will end up being talked about together.
I agree increasing D/F would probably yield better results for Ferrari. What we don't know is if they tried it or not. If not, that's the problem, not the ultimate wing design, which might be worth a tenth or two. It's the whole package. And FA being the better Ferrari driver, something wasn't done right to his car, at least compared to FM. What a shame, and couldn't have happened at the worst possible time. They good news is they can make wing adjustments before the race, so hopefully they'll make Alonso fast enough for at least P4, to move the title fight to Brazil.
Lap 1, by turn 2. Unless Alonso drops out on the installation lap. I thought these cars were all fuel injected. Seems Alonso has, once again, found the choke.
