the pump keeps shutting off after a few seconds when I get fuel.... it does this every time when I get gas... it is the like the vapor return is blocked and the pump shuts off automatically... any thoughts?

it's a pain, but try holding the pump handle at a 90 degree angle while filling. I do this on my 360, and often did it on my prior 911 as well...

I insert the gas pump upside down in my 430, then use the lock to have it keep pumping till full. Works great once you get used to it.

I stand there and hold the handle "up" a little.

Sorry but I just can't set that little clicky thing and walk away.

    Don't overfill...first click and you're done.

tried that as well... worked a bit better but not much.... I will try the 90 degree and see if that works any better.... what chaps my ass is I drive the car everyday (18,000 miles since March) so I get gas all the time and it is getting very frustrating..... Thank you for the input... any idea on what is causing it?

Probably the shape of the pipe leading to the tank (s)- probably pressure/gas flow backs up triggering the pump to stop. Try it with the 90 degree (or upside down) trick- it's really not that bad. I can fill it just as quickly as my normal car with a 90 degree hold- it's not that big of a deal to me..

Replace the charcoal canister (part 180132) and check that the anti rollout valve (part 180030) isn't stuck shut because of the charcoal pellets breaking down from the canister and getting sucked back through the system.

I had this issue and while trying to diagnose a different problem I found I had two blown fuses in the compartment behind the drivers seat (mine is RHD car).

I replaced the two fuses and fixed my problem with the unexpected bonus that the next time I filled the car the pump didn't cut out till 75+ litres had been delivered. Prior to this I had no error lights, no faults but the damn pump might cut out as many as twenty times or more during a fill.

I'd say your problems are most likely in the fuel evaporation / emissions / filter area.

There is this one newer station by me that always gave me trouble in my '09 Boxster and now in my F430. So I just do not get gas there. Try to find a place that has older pumps they are not a environmentally friendly (vapors) but work so much better for tricky cars like these.
