Can anyone tell me the colour of the SL in photo Nr 1 of post 926. It looks a bit like Oro Elios from the 6.0SE, but perhaps a little richer in colour depth. It is often difficult to tell as light can play tricks in photographs.
Whatever it is - it's a stunning colour on the Gallardo.

That #88 car is so damn good looking. I love the nuance changes from the normal Diablo like the nose, the wheels, side windows, etc. that make this edition so special. Personally, I think it is the best looking of all the Diablos (even with its pop-up headlamps!). The SV is second and then the 6.0 cars in my opinion.

It is the same color as the 2001 Diablo 6.0SE. Ordered special by a customer who lives in Vancover B.C., it is a bit off as the Gallardo cars are machine painted in PPG Global water based paint, as the Diablos are hand painted in PPG Global Oil based paint..a stunning car none the less

I agree. Gold was an iconic color in the 60s & 70s, but today a gold car is not an easy sell.

Not every car is about the "sell"...

My Gold SE is priced at a price that 99% would say..and I agree...un-sellable..at least at this point in time..but I love it..and enjoy it every chance I get. I also think the color does nothing for itself in photos..it is a 3D in person color..I have now seen it on LP640 cars, a 640 Roadster as well as a LP700 and each and every car is top notch and stunning IMO.

You should know better by now than to answer one of my posts with such a flippant & silly remark.

Who suggested that every car is about the sell?

Pointing out that gold is an iconic color from the 60s & 70s, and then going on to suggest that today it is less sellable is simply stating a FACT, because today gold is less well-received, less popular & less desired. My straightforward, balanced & dispassionate commentary seems to have escaped your narrow-minded & selective observation yet again.

Bearing in mind your self-proclaimed illiteracy, at the risk of overtasking you, I will ask that you read my post again.

Sorry to deflate your over-inflated ego which allows you to think that every post I make is somehow a comment on something which affects you. My comments on how much I like gold are well-known around here as I lamented (along with many others) the factory's own repainting of the gold Miura SV 5092 in yellow.

As for all your cars that are advertised forever without selling, spare us the BS: "I love it, I enjoy it, I will never sell it, I don't have to sell it....." blah blah blah drama queen routine. Everyone is sick & tired of that broken record, and frankly, nobody cares what you do with your cars. If you love them so much, back up your long-winded talk & stop advertising them. If your feelings were hurt because you own a gold car, I'm not sorry. We all make our choices.

Now, before you respond with yet another one of your illiterate rambling diatribes, remember, the English language can only be properly understood if it makes any sense when written.

    Best,

Your the snob here Joe. How dare anybody ever question you! Roy is about as down to earth as it gets to own so many Lambo's that's why he's so popular.

As requested there is no need to banter back in forth with you, regardless of my lack of the English language..MAYBE you should read your post ..it CLEARLY SAYS a HARD SELL...so I responded..becuase I, as WELL AS the owner of the SL in Gold could CARE LESS about the "sell" of the car..he got his and I got mine becuase of the color and we both like it..very very simple..my feelings are not hurt..I just responded to a clearly BLACK and WHITE statement you made..

Don't flatter yourself with your pretense at interpreting my post. You & your cars were the last thing I was thinking of when I made that post.

Bottom line, in today's car world, gold (whilst beloved by many enthusiasts myself included) is a hard sell. My post does not mean that I am suggesting its always about the sell.

The SL owner may not be selling his car. You on the other hand are. Ergo your response in keeping with your whole raison d'etre here which is purely self-serving, self-promotion of you your cars and your ideals. How about providing useful & accurate text, illustrations & images for the benefit of community.

I field lots of questions anytime, likely more than anyone here, and they all get answered.

Special disposition for Roy though :)

And bear in mind, success is not a popularity contest.

Joe your wrong here. A Gold car is a very easy sell... That is if you can track down the original owner.

Sat in #27 yesterday. He started it up cold, too. I did not drive it.

Trying to familiarize myself with the SE...and find the history of the car.

    This thread was very helpful.
