I put down a deposit for the F12 in March last year and according to the dealer, I should be taking delivery of it June next year.

My dealer in Florida says likely two year wait. I just took delivery of my 2013 458 so I'm set for a while but the F12 is on our radar for sure.

I've already had a FF but still, it doesn't help in getting the F12 sooner. I quess the rumors of pushing the FF to buyers may not be a factory idea but just the dealers.

They come from the same production line, so I cant see how it helps F12 production to up FF sales. Theyre currently building 6 V12s per day. Was at the factory Thurday and they had it at exactly 50/50 FF/F12s, so currently 3 each per day (with 220 production days/year I was told.

In other words..... stop ordering FFs!!! ;)

Pushing FF's really doesn't make much sense. Maybe they don't want a failed model and want to make sure the R&D budget is covered. The dealer conversation started with "take a heavily optioned FF ($370K) for $310K and you will be way up on the list for the F12." When I said I didn't like the colors of their stock FF's they said I could order one and pointed out the newer FF's are cheaper since they include a lot of the electronics options. A nicely optioned one is now around $320K-330 and they will take $10K off. What are others hearing?

At very low $300k it becomes a pretty decent value.
    Nothing really compares,certainly not a B.SuperSport priced at $300k.

I just think that there will be a very steep depreciation curve given the lack of demand. We could see mid-$200K in a year or so. That will be good value.

I put down a deposit in Aug2012 and will get my car in July 2014. Yep Two year wait. I have not had a Ferrari before and thought that was an excessive wait.

Now that all the F12's are coming out now I am really excited and cannot wait. I am currently driving my R8 GT spyder and only received it recently so will enjoy that for two years till my F12 arrives!!!

PS This is in London. Also the FF line was used on me as well which is surprising. They want you to prove they are serious buyers by making you "buy" your way into the increased slot. Thats just the same as giving the premium for one of the first in.

The FF is an amazing vehicle. Only those with first hand experience can appreciate this. I enjoy my FF more than any other car I have ever owned.

And having just picked up my new car today, I can vouch for what you're saying. I drove the car on the left to the dealer, drove the car on the right back home.

Both are Silverstone over beige......I like change, just not too much at any one time.

While at my local dealership (Ferrari of Washington DC) for winter tire swap on my FF, I made casual inquiry on F12 with sales. They expected to be delivering to customers in 2013 and were confident that their allocations for the first three years of production would be snatched up to serve existing group of loyal customers. No question in my mind on my option as an average Joe (without long history). If I tire of my FF I might find slot at year 4 or 5.

Your no average Joe with an FF !
In my judgement they can make well over a thousand F12's a year and another 500 FF's Over 800 FF's have been made and delivered to retail customers in 2012 despite lukewarm reception in their major N America market. It will be 66% + F12's on the line from next January with a V12 capacity of 2000 per annum
Your DC salesman is a typical yesterday's Ferrari man. Arrogant beyond belief. Put a cash deposit now or find another dealer.

I'm 6'2" at 330 lbs (suited for larger vehicles) so I wasn't part of the 458 frenzy (experiencing long waits, etc.). I bought my 2012 FF with 258 miles (as second owner) from an out-of-state dealer. I was told by sales that they have 12+ guys (firm purchasers) for F12 which utilizes their expected allocation (TBD - at least 3 or 4 per year) for several years. If I'd gotten the right vibe from sales (eg, Would you be interesting in making a deposit?), I would have found my checkbook.

Maybe they just didn't want to pick up a deposit for a vehicle that they couldn't provide in timely manner. Being in Washington DC area, there may be more demand than availability in first few years. I've always found them to be polite and honest with me. I have a follow-up on a service campaign on FF in coming week so I'll chat more in detail with sales.
