    Hopefully it's better than the Top Gear Appocolypse episode where James May stated the F40 has a twin turbo V6.

    Anyone here with an F40 ever use the car on the track? Whats the durability factor?

    I have but just casually. My thought is its great for occasional non-competition use, but if you wanted to compete then the car will need some work in the tires and brakes department, maybe gearing. You'll also want to get rid of the cats. The F40 is a car that gets upset easily if you change much so unless you have a lot of time, money and patience I'd get a dedicated track car (ie cup car) and leave the F40 for show events. Or get a real LM which has already had all the work done.

    the previous owner of mine did some track time.
    which is why i have a lowered suspension, bigger brakes, carbon fibre replacement parts everywhere, comp exhaust, 2 more fire extinguishers and bigger turbos putting out about 550+ bhp. but i would not take it to the track myself. the parts are stupidly expensive and although the work is relatively simple, the garages see you coming and charge accordingly, so its not a cheap deal to go tracking.

    btw, if you want about 80% of the f40 sensation in a car that costs 20% of this, try the 360cs. wonderful machine.

    but i have even parked that one up now, and wont track it anymore since the costs got out of hand imo on that too.

    so i concur that if you want to track a ferrari, get a dedicated track car like a 360 challenge - now that is a pretty cheap way to go for a lot of performance and fun.
