Haven't seen this before. Extract from The Independent Saturday 05 December 1998: IT'S SUMMER 1971, and I am with my father at Brands Hatch, the noisy shrine to Formula One motor racing. In the parking lot, two lanes of cars are heading for the exit when their procession is halted by a couple of tough-looking bouncers. They stand before the lead Toyota, extending their hands like traffic policemen, then wave a spectacular yellow Lamborghini Miura through the gates. The queue re-starts. We drive out. And exactly 100 yards up the road, we encounter the canary-hued Italian passion-wagon again, parked on the grass verge. Standing beside it, drinking champagne, oblivious to our staring eyes, is a skinny oik with a large nose, a shiny yellow satin suit and a blonde-goddess girlfriend. Rod Stewart and Dee Harrington have decided that, rather than sit in a traffic jam, they'll while away half an hour with vintage Krug and a little light posing.
Thanks for posting, SAB. Summer of '71 couldn't have been the SV he had. He must have had a yellow S as well.
I missed the SV and SVJ for sale at Tom Hartley. Click and scroll down the page: http://www.tomhartley.com/classic.php
I met Tom at Quail Motorsports in August. He certainly consigns some awesome cars we share appreciation for!
I think these are recently sold. The SV is Rod Stewart's and was recently spotted in Hong Kong. The SVJ had a UK owner this year at least. Perhaps it has moved since then tho.
Yes, must have been recent. I wonder where Rod's car is now? How's JiLL coming along? Did you manage to speak to Mr James?
4818 is still in Hong Kong as far as I know. The photos a few posts back were fantastic. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140996938&postcount=9651 4812 is progressing very nicely. It's great seeing the build stamps on the various body parts as it comes apart -- doors, louvres, etc. The rear clip is covered in lime green paint once the thick black stuff is peeled off, so it appears to be original despite the presence of the "wrong" tail lights. And yes, I caught up with Mr James last month. He remembers the car in its original lime green back in the 70s and has a few photos. I'll scan and post if he sends them to me.
I thought Rod Stewart's SV has been in Hong Kong since it was auctioned a while back. Surely it wouldn't have come back here to go back again. Has it been actually been back here I wonder? It'll be great if he sends you some pics to post of 4812. Good to hear of its progress. Looking forward to seeing it next year. Glad you saw Mr James. He has a very beautiful Bizzarrini as I'm sure you know. Did he know of Steve Warby's whereabouts? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4C1rajsan9w[/ame]
Jimmy, So nice to hear that 4812 is coming along! It will be very special to see this iconic SV come back in lime green. Margaret & I are so sorry we missed Piet & yourself in London - we had family commitments - so hopefully next time we can all get together! Regarding cars: - 4818 went to Hong Kong as a result of the auction and has remains there with the same person. - 4892 the SVJ is now available again. Best,

Relaying some nice chat on Pistonheads. The movie "Fair Game" was shown on the BBC in 1994, in which there are 18 minutes of Miura footage. In the second clip in the link below, there are several shots of three people in a Miura. Quite how this worked I will never know. Evidently the UK shots feature 3483. http://lena-headey.com/videos/thumbnails.php?album=39
Hi, A friend has a Miura SV #4922 original colour combo: Verde Metallico / Bianco delivered: Lamboauto. He comes from Austria and own the car since 36years. The car has a Jota Kit front and he want some information about the history. He only know that the car comes from Berlin and he bought it in Hamburg in 1976. It would be great to know, who, where , when built the Jota Front on this car!
Incidentally there are some pics of Len a Headley in a Countach I posted so maybe she likes Lamborghinis. As I mentioned in the other thread, 3 in a Countach does go too!

When I was 12 and my brother 10 we quite often travelled in my father's Miura together. One time my mother had to come with us, making 4 of us in the car.
#3829 and #3132 up for auction http://www.coys.co.uk/auction.php?itemID=2034&auctionID=27 http://www.coys.co.uk/auction.php?itemID=2055&auctionID=27
Good to see 3829 reunited with its engine. I did't know the engine had been at the factory all this time. 3132, a converted SV, still with its original bonnet and wind up windows. How do they upgrade the chassis to have thicker gauge steel?
