I don't mind the buy/sell stuff in AC, Skyrim, etc. Fun to build up a mighty arsenal and become more lethal by increment.

I think I'm pretty much done with gaming until GTA V.

I didn't even make it to the main character in AC3. The intro is long and pretty boring, lots of slow walking around and then sneaking through some area and then more cut scenes. The instructions for missions are pretty poor as well, half the time I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing. I LOVED AC2 and almost played through the whole thing, which is rare for me to do, I was really hoping to love this as well, but I just don't want to play it. I popped it in tonight for the first time in days, was sneaking through some redcoat area, got found and failed the mission and just turned it off. It's just not fun.

Popped this in tonight - Initial D Extreme Stage. Pretty good if you like arcade-type racing games (it's actually a console port of an arcade version). It does take awhile to understand the options on the menus and such, as they are in Japanese.

Halo 4 isn't happening. No Xbox.

I don't like the looks of BO2 because it's set in the future, with futuristic things. Not my taste. On the other hand, AC3 is set during the American Revolution, and won't have the modern weapons I've been used to in the COD series. Plus, gameplay may be slightly different from COD (I've never played an AC game to know what it's like).

On AC, I'd say pick up Revelations (2011) before AC3. It'll get you familiar with the gameplay and ongoing historical flavor of the series. $16.11 on amazon right now, a deal for a really good game.

The original AC is still great; completing the core assasination sequence is a challenge, to say the least.

Re lockpicking: I've found Skyrim's system to be the least annoying so far, actually kind of enjoy it.

I'd play AC from the beginning. The story wont make any sense otherwise. The 1st game had some annoying repetitive missions and combat wasn't the best but still a sound game. AC2 fixed most things and still my favourite of the series. Brotherhood and Revelations just built on the AC2 storyline of Ezio and added multiplayer.

I'm currently juggling Diablo 3, Borderlands 2, XCOM and Skyrim while in open beta for Mechwarrior Online.

I picked up Black Ops 2 for xbox yesterday. I've started the single player first so I can familiarize myself with it before I jump into multiplayer. I got a few hours in so far and it is fun. Graphics are nice and I like the locations. Fighting hasn't been too much of a challenge on the normal setting. I will say the story is very graphic with stuff like someone getting their head chopped with a machete or shot in the face point blank. There is one mission where you basically run through a village shooting anything that moves with a shotgun and its brutal.

I tried one Zombie map. The one that has the Bus. That was lots of fun and had me laughing.
I'm looking forward to the multiplayer but early reports say the spawn is like MW3 where you spawn and quickly get shot in the back. I wouldn't play MW3 just because of that. They also say the maps are well done. I hope they don't let me down. Between this and FH I think I'm set for awhile :D

I've got Black Ops 2 also , and the maps are a lot better then before. Tons of places to hide and it seems like you can climb on anything. Multiplayer also runs very smooth. The spawning does suck, just like before too!

    w00t :D

I'm still playing it. My suggestion to really get the most out of the game, do as many of the side missions as possible. It will speed up how much money you make so you can unlock the cooler weapons and maps for finding feathers, chests etc.

Getting the Fort Captains are really a walk in the park and cut the taxes on trading goods.

While the maps are large it's mainly open space so make use of horses and fast travel points :)

Black ops II is turning out to be a lot better than my first impression. I'm liking it.

I'm still playing Skyrim and what you say holds true for it and AC - lots of relatively easy side missions early on build up working capital as well as experience-based ability advancement.

AC III should be on the porch now and I intend to install and begin play this evening.

Skyrim holds literally infinite possibilities. After a break I'll start a new game in an entirely different character mode - level 52Imperial knight/mage in present game but a sneaky Khajit looks good for next time around.

Hitman Absolution also available as of today but Windows 7 is baseline OS for it. I'm still running XP and an OS upgrade is inevitable if I want to continue playing new-release games on this computer. Probably best to save the $ toward a new dedicated gaming system and keep this one going as-is for writing, everyday internet, etc.

I still play Skyrim from time to time, I'm sure I'd play more, but I have a really bad lag problem that annoys the crap out of me and that I haven't found a fix for yet.

I've developed ongoing problems with it as well - a "Microsoft C++ visual" error that freezes the whole system in-game and in-game Steam popups that crash the game to desktop.

Time to put it aside and move on for awhile anyway - Assassins Creed III is on my desk but I'm going to take my machine to Data Doctors for a software cleanup before installing it.

Mine isn't too bad, but no matter what graphics level I run I get lag when looking around the world. It doesn't seem like a big deal, but it's annoying enough to basically ruin the game.

I had an new evga GeForce 560 GTX graphics card installed this summer and it's made a huge difference in setting capability and visual quality; occasionally get a bit of hesitation but it's near negligibly annoying and not enough to make me crank down the settings - I'm spoiled now!

My current crashing problems can be traced back to when I installed some third party game mods from the Steam website...knew it was probably a dumb thing to do but did it anyway. Like cars, pc games are most often best when left stock.

I was hesitant about getting Skyrim because Fallout 3 and Oblivion Elder Scrolls IV caused consistent problems - crashes/blue screens. Went ahead and got it anyway and it ran with no problems to speak of on both the old video card and new one. I guess that previous problems had been addressed and solved in-house prior to release - it was really a pleasant surprise, unfortunately spoiled by the mods.

It's going to take a complete uninstall and a major system cleanup with purge of all Skryrim related registry items to get back to zero. I'll install it again and start a new game but no way on third-party mods.

Assassins Creed is only recent topline game series that's caused me no problems whatsoever - not a crash or lockup that I can recall in the four successive AC games I've played through.

Finished AC3... Well the main story... It's ending wasn't really great... esp after the build up of all the other games...

I have it now but yet to be be installed. The random open-play aspect of games like AC and Skyrim is what I like most about them and a soso ending not that big a deal.
