I'm looking for the best roundie/small bumper 2002 I can find; no project cars, though. It's been about 30 years (!) since I've owned one, so I need a little polishing up on what to look for, etc. All help (and purchase leads) appreciated.

I had a 2002 tii in the day. I loved the car. I currently own an M3 among other cars.

I go to an exotic cars and coffee and you will see one or two 3003. I can not remember if any are for sale.

The gentleman who runs this event is on the forum perhaps he knows.

They were great cars in the day.

They seem to feature one every other day on Bring a Trailer... Shouldn't be hard to find a nice one.

Agreed...this is clearly a **** or get off the pot. This is the best spec and the hands down prettiest bumpers. The price is what I would expect for this le el of detail.

My 73 tii was among my most memorable cars ! My fjord blue screamer!!

I've been on it for a couple of hours, but apparently you're the only guy on the west coast who gets up early!

    Wow!!

    $35K??

    Really?

I don't follow these all that closely, but that seems like a ton of money.

OK, off to ebay to price shop.

Probably the restoration at 80 cents on the dollar and the car thrown in for free.

Could well be, but, you don't pay for the restoration, you pay for the market on the car. If it's over-restored, or the current owner just spent crazy money to have the car of his dreams does not mean you pay him for HIS dream.

I got lucky on a couple cars I restored and made some money on both, but that wasn't my objective. If I'm fixing a car to sell it, you don't do what this guy did to this car.

Having said all that, I'd love to have this car in my driveway, but a $20K version that drives well but doesn't win car shows would be fine with me.

I agree, if some guy spends 30K on restoring a 76 Pinto. And you buy it at 30 cents on cost of the resto...it's a good deal?

35K for that car, albeit its very nice. Is BIG dollars. Spend 1/2 that (even less) and you'll buy a well sorted, cared for, turn key 2002.

Although totally different, just for comparison's sake $35k will get a nice 3.0 CS.

My first car was a 1973 2002 in yellow. It was great. I'd love a 2002 Cabriolet, again in yellow.

He did not say he wanted a well sorted car but instead, the best that he could find.
There is clearly a considerable delta between clean. Well sorted cars and the best, needs nothing cars.

    Fair enough.

I just assume when someone says they want the best they could find. They don't actually mean THE BEST they could find.

Actually, that's exactly what I meant, although I can understand how someone would think otherwise, given the way most people use hyperbole these days!

(If I've said that once, I've said it a million times!) :)

Since the seller isn't responding to my messages I assume it's sold, so the search continues....Fortunately, I don't mind the search.

I wouldn't give up on it. Maybe it's a holiday weekend and the seller is away?

Yep. Odds are high he's a few hours away, as Central Coast (Pismo Beach-Cambria & all points between) is great destination during this 4-Day Weekend.

Though closer, Sierras are a little too cool, though without benefit of snowpack . . . Yet.

There was a '76 2002 for sale via Craigslist for months on end in same city last year. Though it listed in mid-2k$, it was Auto & . . . '76.
