A post-production modified P400, vs a complete, uniqiely equipped P400S with celebrity provenance and factory museo history? Lots going on here besides "barn find" and "fully restored"...
Bonnet louvres still there. You can see on http://www.autogespot.nl/lamborghini-miura-p400-sv/2012/11/19
This one? http://www.rmauctions.com/FeatureCars.cfm?SaleCode=AZ13&CarID=r143 There's a thread on it here. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=328933&highlight=miura+finished
I have one question please. What is the difference between these colours : Marrone (2-462-073) and Nero (2-467-011) They look black both of them but is there really a difference? Mr Sackey?
Here is a Marrone Miura SV in a pic from the production period, as supplied to Hubert Hahne. Image Unavailable, Please Login
A 1967 Ad in Popular Mechanics listing the P400 at $18,000. I actually have literature showing they sold for a lot less! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I came across with this. Take a look. It's going out to an auction by Coys in 4th December. http://www.coys.co.uk/auction.php?auctionID=27&itemID=2034 Thank you for the photo Mr Sackey.
They've been trying to sell this thing for ages now... It's going to cost an arm and a leg to put it back into shape... Not a fan of the light cluster either... Joe, do you know anything more about it ?
I'd like to see docs which prove that the mods are factory-made, and docs that prove this car has any link to Aristotle Onassis besides a black-&-white pic with the car's owner. Confirmation of either would be interesting.
You are right but who knows. Maybe only the potential buyer can be able to see the proper documents which approve that the car belonged to Onasis etc or if someone have connections @ Coys.
I tend to find that if historical docs corroborating interesting & valuable provenance exist, they are proudly posted or shared.
Yes. Is it me or does the rear looks narrower than a regular SV? Could be just an impression but from the SVs i have seen, they seem 'fatter' or wider at the rear which gives them a more aggressive look.
When this was filmed the producers discussed it with me and I suggested the 3-up. The idea came from the Lamborghini rally in Italy the previous year (following on from the 25th at Salsomaggiore). We drove from Riccione to watch the San Marino grand prix. On the way there one of the cars (Mike McMahon's Espada) broke down on the autostrada. We all thought that he was filming us and drove past him dropping a gear and waving. Later he made it to the circuit by cab. When we left after the race, redistributing passengers meant that we were one person too many for the seats available and all 2 seater cars. So I took two passengers in my Miura: Mike Lake and his newly acquired best friend! I still remember the chaos when we all drove the wrong way out (to avoid the traffic) and the Polizia became excitable. So to add to the confusion we all got out of the cars and milled around. They quickly got fed up with the traffic jam that the stationary cars were creating so we all jumped back in (3 in my car again) and drove off. Too late one of them realised that there were 2 long haired passengers in my Miura and chased after us blowing his whistle but to no avail. Somehow I don't see the upcoming 50th as being quite as anarchic
Has anyone seen this? One of the most unique Miura is about to go on the block at Coys. http://www.coys.co.uk/auction.php?itemID=2034&auctionID=27
