he has an F40, he *might* have an Enzo but I'm not 100% sure on that. within the realm of possibility, though.

I'm sure if he did one of the Nashville guys would know.

The Doctor-Killer is certainly a heck-of-a-car, and yes, very special.... but butt UGLY, IMO...

It looks fine from a straight head-on view or straight rear view... but the side??? It's only slightly better than the old 914. There. Said it.

At least the Porsche design department figured that out; the successor 918 Spyder is very attractive.

The above is subjective and my opinion, but I've heard others agree.

CGT is one of my two favorite road cars of all time (along with the F40).

    it's a masterpiece...and it's trying to kill you at all times :)

    love it.

I think it's a bit too evolutionary, too close to other Porsches of the era (986 Boxster and 996 Carrera), which can be a bad thing.

but to me the beautiful bits are underneath the body panels....

those coilovers with pushrods! and the carbon subframe! giggity.

I do not think you understand Porsche's design philosophy. They are just not going to do a flamboyant car as it is not in the DNA of the company. I think the CGT is an aggressively elegant design that continues to age well

The carbon fiber subframe is Made in Italy by the ATR group, whom also did the Enzo. Awesome stuff.

I've never heard the CGT called ugly. It's one of the best looking Supercars ever made IMO and certainly one of the best looking Porsche ever made. The design is unique and surprised me when I first saw it as I did not expect it from Porsche's typical designs. One needs drive the beast through a long tunnel at 4500-5000 rpm at full go to realize how special the car is. The sound alone will seal the deal. One of the last "old school" formula one manual shift race cars for the road that will ever be made I believe. Even the new Pagani is no longer available with a manual shift. It's a car that makes you pay close attention to your every move...

Flamboyant???? Where'd you get that? You're putting words in my mouth. I did not say that or insinuate that. And, yes I do understand Porsche's design philosophy.

One of the great things about Porsche is that they never have done flamboyance.

    You misunderstood me.

I'm a HUGE Porsche fan, have owned 6 (all 911's), have one now, but that doesn't prevent me from having 'design' opinions.

I am not talking about the details; they are incredible, or the engine; a masterpiece, or the driving experience; mind-blowing. Fantastic car.

It's the 'shape' of the car: from the side it looks like a 914 or a Porsche version of the El Camino.

    It's just ungainly. My opinion.

Linking the CGT design to the 986 and 996? Really? That's the first time I ever heard a reference of this type.

But hey, why not throw the 996 under the bus whenever you can...it will certainly result in a self-aggrandizing reply from this crowd it seems.

Respectfully disagree on your first point about being similar to the 986 and 996. I have a cgt and don't see any similarities.

Totally agree on your second point.

I have no real opinion on the CGT design but, respectfully...

Im going to guess you guys have no real design/art training.

There is not a professional designer on the planet that wouldnt see the stylistic similarities/design language between the CGT and the 993/986/996/997/Panamera

Out of every car company on the planet , Porsche has the most similar design DNA in all its products. In fact the 918 shares the same design language.

Quite correct here...Porsche does indeed like to reference its historic designs

Of course, but the 288 is "based" on the 308 while the cgt isn't based on the Boxster or 996 or anything for that matter.
