I'm putting the rear bumper/valence back on my Boxer (1977 BB) and my question is: does the inner fender well stay on the outside (as pictured) or does it go on the inside lip of the rear bumper/valence. If it stays on the outside, the inner fender well serves as sort of a mud flap. If it goes on the inside, it seems water, dirt could collect inside the rear bumper. I have seen it both ways on different boxers and I would like to know if anyone has the correct (factory fitment) answer on how these pieces should fit? Thanks a lot for any help.

bumper goes ahead of the fender. You have to spread the bumper and pull it around and over the inner.
