    Oh, I hear you......

However, IIRC, race control is the one place (during the "event") that neither Bernie nor Todt (et al) are allowed to visit - A "rule" implemented when JMB tried to do just what you're suggesting (?)

    Cheers,
    Ian

    Not quite what I'm suggesting.
I'd like to see any issue adjudicated ASAP by the proper on track authorities and not by the politicians and their lawyers.

Just wait. If what they think they've found on mars is confirmed it will be news.

    +1

    *Absolutely* agreed.

I want my WDC decided on the track, not in court, damnit!....

Because, most times, 10 minutes allows the penalty to be implemented during the race. Post race penalties *suck*....... Rulings out of Paris a month later *really* suck. :(

    Cheers,
    Ian

Were F1 a paragon of fairness and transparency the delay would still suck.

    Another +1

However, all joking aside, it's the one sport where your proper on track authorities can generally take some time in an attempt to get it right without messing the whole thing up.

    I kinda like that. ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

So where is the next "FACT" video CLEARLY showing vettel passing someone during yellows? There must be some small snipet somewhere they can hold on to.

Yup, you called it! We were misunderstanding each other, but on the same wavelength - but I hadn't seen that video and green flag yet.

Flags do trump flashing lights. Legal pass.

    Exactly.

apparently one of the marshalls was waving a green flag right where he overtook, haven't seen it myself though.

Ferrari is what you call a bad loser.

If you try and win a championship through court.

And if your star driver is outqualified by his supporting teammate, and you start losing seal stickers.

“Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser.”
    Vince Lombardi.

Look I agree if NO rules were broken by all means let it go but Alonso and Ferrari worked hard to get to that point as did Vettel and Red Bull....Sooooo if Vettel did pass under yellow shouldnt he feel hollow about his WDC crown????????
Well everyone knows this is all about money anyway, lol

Has anyone actually seen a report that gives this Ferrari source that says they're considering the protest? Any quote with a source said 'no' days ago.

Without the source, I doubt it's even true.

Ferrari have confirmed via Twitter that they have asked the FIA to clarify if Vettell's move was legal:
The FIA have confirmed that there is no case http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/104644
Phew! Nothing to see here and it's all done and dusted. Can't blame Ferrari for asking I suppose even if it was clutching at straws. Oh no! Another protest: http://sniffpetrol.com/2012/11/29/ferrari-to-challenge-christmas/

I don't represent any F1 teams. However, I know what you're saying and it does not need to be said that I represent my clients to the best of my ability. My personal feelings are irrelevant. Any other questions about my job?

Spiegel Online (German news site) reports that Ecclestone said that there hadn't been any discussion at all at FIA about the incident as it was clear to them that the green flag had been waved. Furthermore, Ferrari too did not protest or start any rumours, it apparently originated in Alonso's management.

LOL! I did wonder about posting that as there are some who seem to have a problem with the Sniff Petrol brand of humour. Some people take it seriously with hilarious results: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=23&t=1223178&nmt=Toyoda's+rant%3F

Ultimately I think this whole saga post-Brazil has been quite interesting in that there is no way it would have happened 5 years ago. Nobody at Interlagos on Sunday spotted this, nobody at Ferrari, or the FIA. It was spotted and brought to the worlds attention by F1 fans, as was footage showing the green flag. I would have thought that Ferrari would have employed someone to watch Vettel's on-board feed throughout the race to look for any possible transgressions like this (and Red Bull would have done the same, watching Alonso). The shame is that they didn't do this or if they did the guy missed it which means the questions were asked days after the race instead of during it or directly afterwards. It does make Ferrari and Alonso look like sore losers, which is a shame.
