The Howe SCCA TA2/GTA Camaro looks more like the street car , right down to the option of using a factory grill & bowtie , something that will set you back almost $900!

I have always had an interest in F1, but certainly not because of any competition. MOst road racing has no competition, mostly due to the race circuits being so tilkeish.

NASCAR is entertaining, I do not enjoy it as much as when there were drivers like Dale Sr, but still, it is fun to watch.

To compare F1 with NASCAR is just silly. They are both entertainment, just different venues.

In that list I'd say Hamlin is over valued and Smoke & Bowyer are under valued.

Hamlin has huge potential - I understand what you're saying, as its results that count, not potential, but when you are trying to make odds on a new champion with new cars, potential has to be factored in.

I feel that Brad has a better chance than Gordan. Although the move away from in house engines by Penske, may not work out. The #2 car has had an incredible streak without failure. Roush engines have always been good restrictor plate tracks.

Sports Betting is not something I want to get into, lol.

Hamlin and Co have choked late in the season too many times for me to put them better than 10-1.

Kenseth will be interesting to watch next year with Gibbs.

I am very interested in seeing how Logano does with Roush engines, and Matt K. with TRD engines. They where next to eachother in line to qualify at Charlotte, and I was watching them talk to each other with a 60X zoom binoculars. I wish I could lip read. They where laughing, so some jokes where being said I guess, but then after Matt left Joey looked really down and nervous. Joey is an introvert before races. Greg Biffle ran his fast lap, and Joey's crew chief came over with a replay of what Greg did on a little video device. Kinda cool to see little details like that with such a big zoom.

I could pick out people I knew working for teams in the garage area from the top of the stands. For a race, it'd be awkward to have something that large, but in qualifying, you can find an empty space in the stands.

The biggest ??? for me next season is Penske with Roush engines. They seemed to have it together with their in house shop + dodge support. Very reliable season for Brad K. I'm really not sure the money was worth the switch given the success they had this season.

seriously considering going to Eldora for this race, it will be a riot.

anyone know what tires they're going to use? I assume the Goodyear "rain" tires won't cut it, so what will they be using....and from what tire supplier?

Goodyear is contractually obligated I am sure, I believe they make Outlaw Sprint car tires so they have the 'technology', but if not Goodyear the only other choice is Hoosier.

I didn't read it either, shoot me.

I'd agree with that 1000 percent, but the deal was done before Brad went on his run...
You have to wonder if there are any 'deals' being cooked up for other teams to use Dodge in 2013. Ganassi has nothing to lose, except I am sure he is already under Chevy contracts.

If Furniture Row Racing was based out of Charlotte they might be worthy, IF Mr. Nemecek would simply QUIT showing up, starting and parking... especially since they have Kurt Busch now, who drove for Dodge/Penske.

I didn't realize they made Sprint car tires so maybe a moot point. I was thinking there might be a deal where Hoosier made a dirt tire and it was branded Goodyear, or something like that.

I thought the quoted part of the article in his first post was the entire article

btw no pics but I saw one of the new Impala stock cars at PRI this week, it looks great....the body has some really cool details like fender flares, scallops, etc.

I'm sure the wind tunnel guys are going nuts over that :)

Richard Petty Racing was in talks with Dodge about switching. Petty was for sticking with Ford, and the Business owner, wanted to move to Dodge as Dodge promised them more funding than Ford.

It was pretty much a game of chicken where Dodge finally started to promise money to their teams, but it was too late, Dodge lost. Its a little more complex than I full understand, but I do know RPM was considering Dodge, and Penske bailing, when they own the engine shop, eventually left little option for Dodge.

Penske - wanted more Dodge Teams, and Dodge funding on the level Ford offered for those teams.

RPM - Difference of opinion between business owner, and Richard Petty.(Staying Ford, meant Penske joined Ford, and Ford gives more money to Penske than RPM. Dodge, at the end, was willing to offer more than Ford to RPM, but it was too late for Penske.)

Dodge - Reluctant to spend more money.

This is what I've picked up. May not be accurate, may be more to it. If there was another team than RPM considering the switch, it isn't a team that let on about it.

I'm looking forwards to the new Ford. I wish Shell could make a decent paintjob on the #22 though. The flames having to disappear around the area of the race number really ruins the look. :(

They should either raise the area of the car that is red, above that race number, or below it. I'd go for below it, and run an almost entirely yellow car. Oh well...

I pretty much 'read into' the same implications.
No matter how you slice it, the teams that RHR, RCR, TRD and Roush supply parts to are really nothing more than test teams for them, Penske didn't have that.

Apparently they didn't need it, that's the sad part. If I had something nobody else could have I'd be happy as s---, and I'd be pissed if I had to share anything.

The #24, and #18 look a lot better plain with just sponsor's logos. The #11 would better if it did the same. Thanks for the pics.

The big green "American Ethanol" is gonna look ugly on a lot of cars. Its really tacky how it overhangs the tail light decal. I think the worst I've seen is the #22, the yellow/red scheme clashes really really bad with that green.
