Can't you read? Some have suggested that the 360 is better value for money. This is subjective. I really dont think anyone is seriously suggesting that the 360 is a better car than the 430.

I don't have any skin in this game as I am not yet an owner and won't be for at least a few more years. However, regardless of which one is better, my first Ferrari will be a red/tan 360 Modena six speed preferably with racing seats. It doesn't matter which one is better, that's what I want and that's what I will buy as my first. This is a hilarious thread though, I've enjoyed following it. Mark

Well, I say that to stick to the "Ferrari" guys in the 80's who told me an infinite amount of times how my little 246 Dino Gt was "a Fiat". It's my way of getting back from years of abuse.
I don't mean to add fuel to the fire, but the OP not only said that the 360 was better than the 430, but he said it was "WAY" better!! ...very strange... However, I can see the confusion on how we are all reading it because the OP is all over the place with his comparisons. First he implies that the 430 has more power (I would say that it makes it better...no?). Then he goes into the looks of the 360 vs. 430, but I ignore that because that's subjective and it's just an opinion. Then he says that the 360 handles better, and it is more elegant! WTF does that mean! Then he asks if it's actually worth $70K more, that implies value, which is a logical argument when comparing two items. But then I can't let go of the title...360 is way better than the 430! What is going on? This post is turning fun, I'm going to grab some popcorn

OK. A 360 is NOT an F430. It's better! (I really don't it is a better car...just better for me. I can afford both.)
just wondering... How many 360 owners paid the premium to move to 430. compared to how many 430 owners cashed out and get the 360?
I went from 360 to 430, no regrets. The 360 was/is an awesome car, but the 430 is simply better in so many ways.
I don't think the OP meant that in a serious way but in a question way of "how is the 430 70k better than a 360". Reading his posts you can tell he was not ignorant towards the 430 being a "better" car but just couldn't seem to find the "WOW, YEAH THIS IS DEFINITELY THE 70K REASON HERE" THING I drove a 458 a little while ago and have driven quite a bit of 430's since 2005. I believe the 360 is a better value than the 430. I would spend 20k to upgrade to 430 but not 70, never. However, check this out: The 458 is 100k more than 430 and I totally think that it's worth more or less every penny of that. Assume the 458 would also only be 70k more than the 430 like the 430 is to the 360 and the budget was within all 3 models-I wouldn't spend 70k to go from 360 to 430 but I'd spend 70k in a heartbeat to go from 430 to 458.... I had a point somewhere in there...lol I love this thread.
I think the point is its better value. As in you get more for your money as compared to a 430. I don't think anyone has really said that you don't get more car with the 430 in these 11 pages of comments, just that the cost factor didn't seem to sync with what you get in return for the new model year. Its not a difficult concept really but its not opinion built on looks or general esthetics. So, the trouble comes through outside of that clinical look, its all about personal taste and that will always trump any decision (and your wallet size of course - this is where that plays out)...especially in the car realm. If this were not the case, we'd all have the same type of car and Ferrari probably wouldn't exist (I think that we agree that as a brand they are not all that practical). You cant buy love or taste so if you can appreciate the looks of the 360 and the 430 equally, the only constant you can measure is how much car you get vs. the outlay of cash - which the OP did and in his final analysis, he chose the 360.
How is a 360 good value? The design is 13 years old and looks almost too feminine. The head (most have mildew build ups) and tail lights look dated, the brakes are weak, the engine is underpowered even comparing with new cars with $80k sticker, the slow & rough shifting F1 tranny, and the belt design is probably the worst design in modern automobile history. Ferrari corrected all of these flaws with the F430.
Funny, I was on Rodeo drive and some very manly men were drooling over my car and thought it was a 2009 or so Ferrari model. Yeah, they switched to chains in the 430 but somehow forgot about the headers......... Ferrari finally corrected the 430 with the 458.
You're right. Too many on the check list (forgot the failing catalysts), so it took Ferrari 2 model updates to get rid of all those flaws on the 360. There is a reason why 360s depreciate the way they do. No one wants to bother with them except for a few on this board. Like Herpes, good fun catching them but a pain to live with.
The 360 has been relatively trouble free (especially compared to the F355). Problem is you have to look at the F430 daily. Sorry.
360 guys seem to have "ugly girls think they're the prettiest syndrome." Just like Facebook when a girl's appearance is measured by popularity over actual looks. The only thing going for the 360 is the fact that it's a Ferrari at $80k and no available Lamborghini that cheap.
LOL this thread is out of control! Hopefully we are all in a car we like. Wether it's a 458, 430, 360, GT2, DBS, etc. Everyone has different value points. For me, 50K more for a 430 over a 360 is worth it. 100K more than a 430 for a 458 was not. Although I understand why guys buy the latest and greatest, I just have a problem with paying MSRP.
av2-I bet you're really insecure and were that kid at school that never got laid cause you're ugly. You have a 430 and crap all over the 360 cause it's not a lambo now? Man, I'm so happy I have a 458 on order so you can be my little biatch in my rear mirror 6 months from now in your 70K more than my 360 and 110K less than my 458 herpes car.
