We've had our Testarossa for a month and a half now, so it's about time I got some pix put together. We purchased # 78409 at Bobileff Motorcars in San Diego on a Saturday, and the very next morning it was downtown at a car show with the Ferrari Owner's Club.

She's a late 1988 model. The car runs and looks like new. We can't stop driving it. We have probably put more miles on it in a month than the previous owner did in a year. Resale value? Who cares? This one's a keeper.

Very true. But my wife loves her too and let me move her into our house (well... the garage anyway). How cool is that? Try that with a flesh and blood mistress.

Thanks! Sometimes I walk out into the garage and can't believe there's a Testarossa parked there.

It's a lot of car for the money. This used to be the fastest production car in the world. I had a poster of it on my wall. Now I've got one of my own.

nice car in very good optical condition.

I hope the technical condition is as good as the optical?

but I wonder a little: onyl driving a ferrari does not mean that the driver is handicaped? this because of parking on 2 handicaped parkings?

Technically the car is exceptionally clean. The last owner had it for almost ten years and had all the regular maintenance performed by Gary Bobileff here in San Diego.

That pic was taken by someone at Bobileff Motorcars where we bought the TR. They just parked it in the handicap spots momentarily for the photo op. The building and palm trees make a nice backdrop.

I can't imagine driving a TR with any major physical impairments, but working that clutch all day long is a good way to keep your legs in shape. :)

Turbo-joe, I was curious about your location in Germany. I'm half-German and lived there for ten years growing up. My family is from Ober-Franken (Nord Bayern).

I noticed from your profile that you had a '69 Opel GT. My first car was also a '69 Opel GT in burgundy red. That was a fun little affordable car that delivered good performance and distinctive looks. It was as close to a Ferrari I could come, given my lack of money at the time.

Congrats on a great purchase. Drive and enjoy in good health.. A mistress yes.. oh yes.. Drive her like one as well. Never drive the TR like she is your wife. Drive her like a b*tch because that is what she is.. You follow these rules my man and she will give you years and years of enjoyment..

Thanks Mr. Chairman! I will heed your sage advice. You wouldn't happen to be a novelist in your spare time, would you? You certainly have a way with words. I have been collecting great Ferrari quotes whenever I see them, and I have a few of yours, including this one:

"The TR is great. You must get accustomed to driving her.. Once you get the hang of it, its so much fun. They require a heavy hand, you need to man handle the car. You need to tame the b*tch because that is what she is. Always to be in control or it will run wild on you. The car likes to be controlled and obeys when doing so. Give the car a tad bit of slack, and you lose her. I said it before and I will say it again. Porsche is the kind of car that gets all excited to go out, go to the movies, dinner, light romp on the highway and gives you a kiss goodnite (see ya tomorrow). The TR also likes to go out BUT... She wants to know right off the bat if we're going to f*ck tonite. Those that own one know exactly what I mean."

I now know what you mean. :)

Excellent.. lol. Thanks for the kind words... Not a novelist.. just a car guy who loves his TR.. My buddy Antonio always gave me a lecture when calling my car the b*tch.. until he drove her.. then it all changed to my way of thinking.. Enjoy your car brother.. She will always be in the mood as long as you are. Remember.. get her nice and warm in the gear box before you start blasting thru the gears.. Dont put your hands down her pants to early.. She will push you away.. She needs a little fickle before you get to tickle.. lol..

    LOL!!!! You are quite right.

My mistress can't be rushed in the beginning. You must first warm her up and get the lubrication flowing. She needs to roll along in first for a while to get in the mood. She will resist any crude, premature attempts at thrusting into second. Just ease the clutch in and slide the stick up and over, seductively close to second gear but never touching it, then down and plant it firmly into third. Once her juices are flowing (oil temp above 140) you can approach second with a deliberate push forward.

Once the oil, gear oil and coolant temps are where they need to be, every shift gate is open for business. That's when the Tubis start to wail... Che bella!
