Good news? JOHOR - A Singapore company owned by billionaire tycoon Peter Lim signed a joint-venture deal with Malaysia's UEM Land today to build a motor racing complex in Johor. Malaysian PM Najib and Singapore DPM Tharman were present to witness the exchange of documents between the two companies. Lim's FASTrack Autosport will own 70 per cent of the RM3.15 billion (S$1.26 billion) facility five minutes away from the Second Link. Called Motor City Development, it will be built on 270 hectares of land and will consist of a wide range of facilities including a 4.5km racing track and a car museum. by Ian de Cotta
Fong, what do you think of this impact? It's a shame that this S$1billion project is not built here but am sure it makes more sense to be in Johor. Can't imagine the cost of 270Ht of land alone in Singapore. Anyway, it's good news for us so trackdays can be daily affair in future rather than Sepang!
getting to sepang is half the fun mate ... & for folks like harold, kl beckons ... sepang being the excuse ...
He should just flatbed the car up & arrive in style. To be honest, I find it very tiring to drive the Sg-KL-Sg trips.
Probably is beneficial to Peter, .. He should have invested in the Changi race track instead,, but I guess he is a Business man who says he is "camera" shy but loves the attention .
I agree its fun, if there were no crazy buses and lorries that don't have lights driving around. NS is a fun , but just have to be very defensive when driving fast like in any countries,. I still think Sepang is one of the best and technical circuits in the world
How is the feeling of driving fast on ice ? I never driven fast on ice, only on snow but with a SUV in the former Yugoslavia but I was on dirt roads
I agree with you! The gold just doesn't do it justice Why spoilt such a beauty! Now if it was chrome or a full Carbon Fibre
The problem in Singapore is you need to tender & go into bidding war while maintenance is very expensive over here as well. Over there, you get a partner & let's do it! Think he's also doing a medical hub in Nusajaya as well? Anyway, UEM is a notable developer in KL. They bought over Sunrise which developed the entire Mont Kiara, something like our East Coast here.
ice driving is typically BELOW 50 kmph ... but almost always sideways and thus outside yr comfort zone ... that's what makes it so much fun ...
Where can one go if they are interested in ice driving courses? Will be one hell of an experience I am sure. We actually need a proper driving school here. For advanced skills etc. We have some pretty prominent and good competitive drivers here. WOnder if its a feasible business idea.
Nice, so you drift the easy way just that getting grip is rather difficult or impossible when going fast. Rally driving in the snow
yup.. agree... i need to attend basic F1 driving lessons.. till now I'm not even sure its best to switch Neutral or let the gear go down by itself or should i down gear myself when I come to a stop. Which purposely kills the clutch or F1 pump faster?
Yes, Apparently the Sovereign funds are involved so its am interesting deal, atleast for him. Well, we can always use the venue for drag racing and Sepang for track Just bitter that Spore doesn't have it's own
it is great fun for sure ... porsche runs one in finland north of the arctic circle in early jan ... and they hv an advanced course at another location ... worth the effort if u enjoy this kind of thing ...
yup ... plain winter tyres without studs ... and on some exercises, pasm off ... and u get to chuck around the 911's and the cayenne's ... yippeeeee ...
