    Hi guys,

the 190pt car check came back... 18.2k mileage 07 car...

2 major items seems to be the

Clutch + Exhaust manifold leaking on both side....

    Ital quoted - $26k

Went to EM- around $8k+ for clutch and few hundred * if can weld back the crack*

and a few other small items like micro switch of the door etc etc....

So I guess its back to negotiation table with the dealer now....

How much you think a 07 430 spider price is ?

Wow! Ital charges a fair bit !

Like you mentioned make the dealer pay for it :)

And I believe EM is more competitive :)

    Wow! faint.....

The manifold is famous for cracking & many owners upgraded to aftermarket. In fact, in US they have a law making Ferrari replacing it for free with the version2!!

Mine just had a crack & welded fine, should be just a few hundred bucks. While the KL specialist quoted me about S$1.6K for customed headers, probably 30mm pipes. It's few thousand USD for brand names.

Hmm EM ask me if I wanted their ceramic coated headers @ $6k

Mont Kiara aside, everything they touch turns to gold. Their highrises cost a bomb because people keep flipping them in KL. :(
I thought the medical hub was in collaboration with the Johor royals, no? He's got more things coming iirc..

$410K sounds ok to me, well under $500K & you get a 5yrs old spider but I don't know what's the market now. How's the depreciation per year? Anyway, for $400K we can't find any decent convertible today so got for it!

Did u ask EM what brand is their header? I'm thinking of doing mine as well. They represent the Taiwanese Innotech but don't think they have cert so will be a problem.

Check on the roof mechanism. the Ital 190 pt check doesn't cover that, I'm very sure. The cable and the tension strap (in the inner trim of roof) always fail for 430 and 360. Unfortunately you can only see what's wrong inside when you disassemble the entire roof assembly. I just did a roof overhaul for my 360. And just in case you need any help with the roof, I have contacts for the workshop. They do for Ital, so can't go wrong, plus massive savings.

Try opening and closing the roof several times and see if the process is smooth, especially the opening part. Check if the closing lid closes and cover the fabric with no 'tucking' in difficulty. And also if the fabric is lopsided when in down position. The alignment must be 100% correct.

The brand is innotech and yes no cert for sure! I doubt there is cert for aftermarket headers... My plan was get a cert for aftermarket mufflers and then slap on the headers...

Wow.... how much is the roof overhaul ? ... this experience buying the f430 did'nt start off well LOL... So many new things to learn...

Mate the penalties for first time offenders of illegal exhausts has been increased dollar wise. Worth checking what they are now but it's steep and the cops are all out stopping everything... And its just not worth it... Plus it will irritate the crap out of me every time it goes past my house hahaha.

As for the roof, also check with dipsomaniac.... He can chime in...

if you ask Ital to quote, its about $20k. The best way is to order separate parts yourself online and send to workshop to install. the outer fabric is the most ex of all, original about $8k, OEM+ the rear window about half price (exact same material except no logo). inner trim with tension straps about $1.7k, rubber gaskets all about $2-3k, cables and microswitches are couple of $100s. I think 07 should still be alright, but just double check. If you need my help to have a second opinion, I wouldnt mind.

My ex Maserati had illegal exhaust before (it came with it from ex owner, no cert obviously), but it managed to pass the LTA inspection somehow... even the dB level already exceeded. :) :) ;) i was v lucky

was just surfing on the net... it seems that I am able to buy a complete clutch replacement part for the f430 @ around $1.6k usd ....

was thinking would it be a better idea if I were to buy the brand new clutch online and bring down to EM to fix it on... but I am afraid it might not be very nice to do that ......

you always have a way of putting things MP

like a matte red wrap? ;)

I agree .. some of my favourite times have been doing that run

you should consider my old buggy at motorway. higher km's but was always well serviced

I agree 100% on the roof .. and I wouldn't go to Ital to get it fixed .. coz it never will be
