    Hello everybody!

I'm Finally deciding to buy one...
    ...wonderful red 1992 512TR.

But the problem is the ramp to go down in the garage.

Do anybody knows (or could measure) the height of the very front end lip spoiler of the car?

    I will be very thankful!

    bye

    Simone

Congratulations, we can't wait to hear/see more about it. I don't have a 512TR so someone else will have to weigh-in on your request. There could be minor variables based on wheels/tires/springs. Does your 512TR have stock 18" wheels with 235/40 ZR 18 & 295/35 ZR 18 tires?

Height is definitely a factor but exacerbated by how far the nose extends past the front wheels. Thats my issue with my TR and driveway. The street to the sidewalk is OK but my driveway to the sidewalk is too steep so I scrape almost every time. Approaching at an angle can help but not always possible with other cars in driveway. There are commercial solutions (check Griot's Garage for example) available, or build a transition ramp, or others have poured concrete.

    I had 512TR 18" wheels/tires on my TR and when I went back to 16" TR wheels/tires I lost ~1/4" of clearance :( :( :(

Need to know about the stock one...

    thank you

Well, the 512TR has height adjustable coilovers - it´s very easy to lift it a little...

As somebody else pointed out, its not the ground clearance as much as it is how far the nose extends past the front wheels.

its the type of car that can crash into road crowning as you exit a driveway! You have to be far more mindful of where the front lip is rather than static ground clearance. If you have a driveway that happens to be at an incline in relation to the road, it could mean trouble.

FWIW, I have really bad OCD and avoiding scuffing that bumper is a major PITA. When we were looking for a new home, much to my wife's chagrin, many a beautiful house was rejected because it wasn't Testarossa friendly :)

I use snowplower base plate. They are made to sustain scraping on alsphat winter long. So I use small parts that I have screwed under the front spoiler at each corner. I hear that scraping sound but I know its on something REALLY tough and that can be change easily and cheap.

Yes but the nose extension is written on the user manual as 1095mm, so I hai that info.

The 2 combined are useful to determine the minus angle necessary for Car's safety

I look for the flattest way to exit when fueling and parking. Sometimes those pesky concrete poles next to the fuel pumps will get whacked by my door if I don't pull up just enough to clear it. Sometimes they are painted white so they blend in with the surroundings. I have almost hit one and I really try to slow myself down and make sure I can open the door all the way.

150 mm for my 512M. seems to be workable as i do not scrape very often and it gets on the lift with minimum problems
