Sounds like a very very nice spec indeed. Elegant. Just how an FF spec should be. Just personal taste, but I would go for a stitching in blue to match the TDF as close as possible. The ventilated seats are good. The perforated leather looks good in my opinion. What colour are you going for the sports rims? You have gone for a chrome grill - so maybe keep the alloys silver or even diamond finish? Camera is good and useful. Sat nav? I imagine the FF comes with standard memory seats? I can not remember, been some time since I looked at the standard FF spec etc. If you are going to have passengers regularly in the back then rear entertainment pack? Although if it was my car I would not currently have too many people to take in the back - so I would not go for it. Cruise control? Gorgeous spec Sunny
Cruise, SatNav, Full Electric seats are standard; wiper is no-cost option. Given your choices, you seem to have a solid PoV on what you want in terms of colors and finishes....congrats. The car is just AWESOME in terms of "opinions"....as this is all personal taste The Chrome grill is VERY bright, so agree with prior post, you need some additional metal gloss on the car else the grill will look battery powered! IMHO, the rear DVD system is overblown and overpriced. Most folks today consume content on their iPad, et al (thought otherwise, 1970's FM radios still work; 8-tracks are hard to find. DVD players will be antiques in about 10 minutes) Think about a contrasting color for the seats; it really gives a super dimension to the interior. We contemplated the perforated seats, but had poor experiences in Porsches and Range Rover with the holes looking ragged. The ventilation was awesome, but we were less interested given the task of upkeep. Last, we de-selected the carbon bits. Our car is Pozzi/Cuoio+Blu Scuro inside; the carbon to us just didn't fit the scheme of the car. (However, the red carbon featured in the FF posted here last week is amazing!) Congrats
+1 on contrasting stitching on seats and for horses..........blue does the trick on a TdF over Cuoio....had that on a 612. I'd be very careful on the softer/lighter leather choice.......IF you wear jeans a lot. Levi's will turn them blue, the dye leaks.....just so you know. Been there, done that. Carbon is a VERY personal thing, but to my mind it sits somewhat incongruently with the more classic both the muted colour that is TdF and the general GT theme of the car....IMHO. I wouldn't paint the sports forged wheels, but that's just me. At the end of the day, it's ALL about what you like. Enjoy it in rude health and drive it 'til it drops.
Sounds awesome! TdF will look great on the car. You know, just to put a bug in your ear: they can do a CF with blue tint to it. Would sparkle oh so nice with the TdF paint. This was a color scheme we considered when speccing our car. When in Italy we saw a custom Aperta with this scheme, and it looks amazing. (do a search for Peter Kalikow and Aperta/SuperAmerica 45 and you should be able to find some example pics both here and elsewhere on the web) I chose to not do the center section in CF because we end up throwing keys, phone, and other stuff into the space on the console, and the CF would get all scratched up. Our current FF has leather there, new one has alcantara. Both are more able to stand up to abuse. I love the full leather interior, but again, we opted for alcantara because we are always hauling stuff in the car. But man, does that leather look and smell amazing. I also chose to not get the rear wiper. In rain, we've never noticed the rear window getting dirty. Something about the aerodynamics of the body keeps that window clear even after hours of driving in stormy wet freeways. The rest of the back of the car is filthy, but the rear window stayed clear. In the end, do what your heart tells you, its your car so do what makes you happy. And then get it out and enjoy the heck out of it! The more miles you put on it, the better it gets.
With zymol or supagard protection the droplets should just fall off. Just have it waxed regularly and should not really need the wipers too much on the rear.
Maybe the difference between moving at highway speeds and around town? In our Scion xB we find ourselves using the rear wiper all the time on the highway, seldom around town. The aerodynamics of that car are such that at speed the road spray/dirty water all gets washed back onto that rear glass, while at slower speeds around town the water from rainfall tends to sheet off quickly because the glass is basically vertical. On the FF, the glass is more sloped, so at slower speeds the rain would tend to hit it like the windshield and maybe more problematic. I find the clean(er) rain water less an issue out the rear than the spray kicked up off the road on the highway.
I noted that no one's mentioned suspension lift in recommendations. I have lift on my FF and use daily as 'preventative measure' for awkward driveways, etc.
Makes sense Eric. Not to highjack the thread.......however the water sits, a TdF over Cuoio FF is joint top on my colour combo list. It's such a great colour, carries light well, polishes beautifully and has the metallic depth. Super choice. I hope the car turns out to be precisely what you want.
I would avoid the full leather boot and rear seatbacks. My FF has them and it is annoying. You'll end up putting rug down to protect the leather in the boot so best to just get it carpeted. Also I wouldn't order the rear seat DVD screens. Get some iPads instead. Mine was a demo and came with these. Ferrari also omitted the Homelink mirror which was annoying and cost me $2,700 to fix
