If they say they didn't add something to the wheight of the enzo, they mean the weight added is less than 100kg.

Every time they say the new car is lighter than the previous, but they lie...

And smaller. It's the first Ferrari in ages that is smaller than the car it replaces.

1350kg with all the hybrid gear onboard is a highly respectable weight figure. The 918 and all of its technical wizardry is struggling to get within 100kg of such a figure.

No rear wing on the car makes me wonder what sort of aero they have going underneath, specifically at the diffuser. You can bet they have something clever keeping the rear end at least somewhat planted.

I don't know about you guys, but all of Ferrari's halo cars post F40 and 288 have fallen short of what those two cars were IMO. For me, there has been no successor to their magnificence sans The P4/5. Here's hoping F12 delivers.

Having seen P1 and spoken to management I don't think it (599xx) will be. P1 will be lighter than the F70 and will have more downforce (about 1300 lbs.) I'm still thinking the F70 will look better.

    We shall see.

With all due respect Ferrari wont need to put in much effort to build a better looking car than the P1 which to my eyes at least is very ugly! Very functional looking but unfortunately to my eyes not visually pleasing.

However I agree the Ferrari is going to look better I think and sound much better thanks to the supposedly archaic but emotive V12 ;)

Just a thought, perhaps the true difference between Ferrari and Mclaren is, one is about cold hard science and the other is about emotion and passion coupled with speed and good looks...

BTW wasnt my intention to start another Ferrari vs McLaren comparison...just an off the cuff remark.

Just in case anyone is following this thread as opposed to the general thread that occasionally strays.

Thanks to a post from Mark Antar, some real information which I assume comes from the same Valencia meeting?

In real life P1 looks very good but "Technical". I see F70 being more clasically beautiful.

With KERS there is NO way it could be. Weighing the same as an Enzo is a very good real world accomplishment.

The same for P1 which with it's KERS will weigh about the same as a MP12.

The 918 is a bit different from those two as it has enough batteries to do a full lap of the Ring electrically and thus get 95mpg rating. It weighs more but has a lot more electric capacity. (Should one want that which I wouldn't)

    Hope U R all Well

P1 shape is definately functional, there is something to be said for that approach. One does wonder though how much of the target market for these cars is technically minded.

Of course competition has done much to enhance the breed over the years so its good to have P1 in the market place.

Ferrari enzo to downforce of 775 klg to 300 km/h and 585 at 350 km/h, identical to the p1 I think so the f70 will have more support than the new mclaren?

Having put an Enzo into a wind tunnel and not measured anywhere near those numbers I doubt it.

Its hard to make a litghter car than enzo is, because there is not much to shave. They shave a few kg from the carbon chassis, a few from the seat and pedals arrangement, a few from the smaller size.

But then again, the double clutch gearbox its heavyer than the secvential from enzo, and it adds lots of weight from kers.

So the weight distribution moves back , and it improves grip. That's why its as fast as Veyron to 200km/h with no 4x4 traction....

Really strange because it is information from figures official ferrari, but I have another question, mclaren Announces 600ps per tonne and rumors say that the power is of ~ 950 ps by calculated the weight would be 1400 klg, f70 lighter?
