That is one side of it. Have you put the P1 in a wind tunnel to confirm their numbers? That would be the other side. And in order to compare apples to apples you either compare both their official numbers or you test both the same way.
To me it looks very impressive considering it has KERS etc. as I have always said, I think the P1 will be ultimately quicker round a track, but the F'car I am sure will have the looks. And the sound...........
Firstly so far as I know there is no wind tunnel in the world that can take a full sized Enzo to 350 KPH. Secondly we used PF's windtunnel which is state of the art and didn't see the claimed downforce at 124 MPH: "To accomodate the wide range of speeds at which the Enzo is driven, active aerodynamic controls are incorporated. At 124 mph, the Enzo generates 738 lb. of downforce which keeps the car on the road during fast cornering." The P1 1300 LBS claim is at MUCH lower MPH than 300 KPH. Looking at the design of P1 and it's MASSIVE Wing I believe their numbers. The numbers at 124 MPH are the numbers that matter as there are very few turns one takes above that speed. I think P1's HP and weight will be less than F70's.
True and that day will come when one compares their total performance which for me will be their Ring Time. (Ferrari factory best of 6:58 for their 599xx) Other's will use different performance measures which is fine but when claims turn into verifiable numbers the bull**** stops. If Ferrari can beat their 599xx Ring time of 6:58 with the F70 it will be a huge accomplishment as will McLaren's if P1 breaks 6:58 as well. The F70 weight with KERS is impressive as is the 0-200 KPH as per that slide. For MOST the diference in performance between the 918, P1 and F70 are totally meanless. All will be a LOT faster than most owners. IMO the feel and which one you like the looks of is far more important. There's no question that for many reasons a lot more people will want an F70 than an 918 or P1. I still am intersted in what their Ring times will be and understand that some could care less.
Yes, but i was hoping for less considering they had all that speech with the millechili..I just hope it's really 1350kgs and not more. We are good thanks. Hope you are enjoying your new career . Best Andrew
The enzo weighs 1350 klg with full, release ferrari 1250 klg without fuel. The weight of the p1 will be provided with or without the full?
So is that pic showing that the f70 will weigh the same as the Enzo? Or am I reading the graphic wrong.
I would wait and see first. McLaren thought the same thing with the 458 vs the MP412C and we all know how that turned out.
The F70 is too heavy because they want to make it an everyday supercar. Plus it has the useless KERS system. Everyday usability + KERS = extra weight & less performance They should have made it spartan, just like the F40. A supercar doesn't need everyday usability. It just need to be the fastest it can be on a track. Also drop the KERS. The FXX Evo has a 6.3 l V12 that develops 860 HP. It laps Fiorano in 1:16 So the F70 totally sucks if it only laps it in 1:19. I also heard that the F70 engine will only develop 800 HP without KERS. They should have bumped up the engine displamecemnt to 6,5-7 l for more torque and around 950 HP. So if the F70 would have weighed only 1100-1150 kg and had 950 HP engine, it would have blown both the ugly P1 and the 2 ton leviathan (Veyron) away.
Why do I have a feeling that the last post is just a prankster who created a new account to post something like this just to provoke reactions? It is a joke, right?
One would hope so that or they were drop on there head at some point lol Based on numbers tho what was the point of the V12 they could have pulled these numbers off with a twin Turbo V8 (f40 anyone) with KERS and saved more weight
He drives a Mustang with a fake hood scoop. On a video game. I'm just kidding . . . no offense to Mustang owners--I just needed an American Muscle car for the comparison.
what about acceleration to 100 km/h? with that weight there will not be around 2,5 seconds, more like 2,8 or 2,9
Your forgetting the 2 ton Veyron 16.4) 0-100 in 2.46 weight 1888kgs 987 Bhp (1001 is metric HP) F70 will be about 500kg plus less and only around 75 - 150hp down 500kgs is massive the Ferrari power to weight will eat the 16.4 for breakfast Also Ferrari will only be geared for 320-350kph and don't forget KERS
The car is faster 0-200kph than 7.5 from what I have seen, but this is the prototype I'm talking about. From the very beginning I have always stated that the car will weigh more than 3,000lbs. People that spout numbers like 1,100KG have no idea what they're talking about.
The Chinese guy that shared the figures, has also stated that he estimates the car to have around 800-820hp (plus hybrid should be within 900-920) - 0 to 100kph in 3s and from 0 to 200kph in 8s.
I'm sorry but im laughing my a$$ off... if it's got that much power and remember KERS is instant power on top of the 7 speed dual clutch gearbox which is not being geared for top-speed, far better Rubber, aero package etc and its only .3 faster than an Enzo to 100 then Ferrari are in the wrong business
The F12 dry weight 1525kg/740hp and 0-200km/h 8,5s. Rumours has it that F70 dry weight 1350kg/920hp and 0-200km/h 7,5s. -200kg +200hp and only -1s??? Unreal.
There is no point in speculating. Just wait for the actual numbers. I for one think that they will be out of this world, as with all Ferraris of the past 10 years.
The info being talked about is from Ferrari presentations and people who have seen the car etc... If we wait for the official launch information that will be next year at some point so based on that your basically saying this thread is pointless so taking this into account its very simple if you don't like it don't read it ( no disrespect) as a lot of us want to speculate and try and piece this puzzle together in the mean time
I din't mean to offend anyone. What I meant was : Ferrari have the capability to make the car even faster, yet they choose not to. Their engineers can make it weigh less, but their marketing department doesn't allow them to do that, in order to sell more cars. I would of prefered the F70 to be more spartan, just like the F40, and therefore much faster.
