Just done my first track day with the R. Ok. The golf R understeers like there's no tomorrow even with the HPA control unit. Gonna get some more work done to the suspension and anti roll bars to see if we can make amends. And what seemed like ample power on the road translated to a car that couldn't even keep up with the civic type Rs on the straights. Used the bridgestone re11... Was fine for this low level of power but the tired together with the inherent understeer meant I really had to man handle the golf around the track to try and provoke it to do anything. It's the safest car on the planet.
The FD2R is very good at Sepang and the car just handles. Glad you have a new track toy Let me know if any of your mates wants an evo selling mine off with everything . It's a good track car /drag and is full Varis car, even roof is Carbon fibre LTA friendly
great looks, sorry ass performance IMHO ... i've heard that maintenance is steep due high cost of parts and resale is a bummer ...

Get the PSS and you'll find a lot more grip and perhaps lesser understeer. I hated the understeer on the Golf R and the ESP kicking in too early, but for day to day it's a solid car.
Sigh. Unfortunately, it's not being used at all. I have 3.5 cars here so need to organise a bit. Anyway, Just came back from dealer so i could take an '08 Audi R8 or the DB9 or Bentley Supersports with the later two registered in Langkawi which saves a lot of money.
Maybe you can start a super car rental in KL Many Arabs tourist there and it may be viable . Just an Idea

Jon, the infamous DBS1007 was for sale a few months back, it was going for 400k ish iirc, probably due to the mileage that thing has got on it. Owner wrapped it matte orange.
It's orange?! Always thought it's matte red. That DBS is sweet, and cheap! As Vinesh said, high mileage.
Oh yes I have that on Lego scale ^^ complete with a train station Yeah and pray they don't crash it! Malaysia is too big & too many funny things that can happen. Just heard about a case in Malaysia where a CEO was suspended & GM sacked over a fraud case. Someone walks in to order 45 new cars to register in Langkawi then register it to mainland after a year @ reduced tax then sell back to them @ a loss. Cars were all delivery miles. Some months later, customs officers turn up @ their office & said that the tax documents were all faked & those 45 cars did not pay for duty towing starts & some were already sold to private owners! Oh oh...... Oh yes saw that in the ad. But @ that price, it might not have mainland AP, not sure about it as I'll have to call & check. Manual DBS is very desirable.
