Guys, between an 07 black on black Aston DB9 with sports pack or an 08 Audi R8, silver/black hi specs. Which would you choose? The Aston costs 30% more but depreciates bad & looks good. R8 lots of mods available & easier to sell later but looks not so nice. Both are for daily & touring.

For touring, definitely the Aston. But that's not talking about the finances yet. The head would say the R8 but the heart would say the Aston.

If I could afford it, the heart definitely wins. :)

IMHO, the one other thing you might want to take into consideration is their transmission. DB9's is ZF proper automatic so it's best choice for cruising.. R8's is sequential manual so a bit jerky, that's why Audi fits dual clutch on the facelifted R8s..

Bro, the DB9 is clearly not for driving, full stop. You feel like you are driving a big Toyota. But the looks are timeless. My view? Spring for a DBS - the drive is much, much better.

If I ever was in your position, I'd personally go for the DB9. Black on black, I wonder if its the one I'm thinking of though.. :)
Still no DBS's around for sale huh, that would be a winner hands down.. :D

Hey guys thanks for all your replies, really appreciate them. especially a reminder about the ZF & jerky R8 trans. I'm trading in the 456gt for it & it can actually be anything but happens that my dealer has both of those cars on hand & giving me good prices.

Haha, nice number yeah? It's heart wrenching to rid the 456 & it has far better rear room than DB9 but the maintenance is a biatch! Problem is the Mrs has been nagging about it

I was even looking at 550Maranello but a 15yrs old V12 Ferrari is going to require tons of $ to fix.

Oops. U know what? You're right & I'm actually thinking about importing a DBS, 08 manual cars can be as low as £75k while the auto is £10k more. Would love the manual but then again Mrs can't drive & would bark me to death. Maybe I should rid the Mrs! :D

Always told myself that if I ever get a DBS manual, I'll keep it forever :p

Tiong, I thought the DBS came with carbon backed seats? Those that I saw have heavy leather/alcantara memory seats.
